Six Senses Kaplankaya is nestled in the breathtaking natural beauty of Bodrum’s northern Aegean coastline. Undulating hills clad in evergreens, wild olives and cypresses amplify the invitation extended by the warm breeze and the gently lapping waves of the turquoise sea. Offering a truly unique mosaic of architecture, history and art, the resort is within easy reach of many archeological sites including two of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

We stayed for 4 nights late October and there are many reasons to recommend this hotel. It's a beautiful setting, with a low rise beautiful modern design built into the hillside, far away from anything, and didn't feel busy at any time. I get the impression this is something Six Senses works hard at. We had lovely weather which helps as the hotel has two main sandy beaches. Oddly the family beach is a walk away (and loads of kids stuff is provided). There are two pools that I saw with only a few sunbeds but since most people were at the beach it didn't bother me. Our room (5010) on the reception floor was gorgeous with a massive bathroom and massive windows. Separate dressing room area. There are lifts but different amenities are on each of the 5 floors. The gym is HUGE and really well equipped and it has a separate reformer Pilates studio, yoga studio, spin studio, and the largest spa in Europe. We had a massage each and I had a facial, both faultless. The relaxation area is lovely too and there are both separate women and unisex spa facilities. Staff are super helpful without being in your face. Everyone was kind and lovely. The only reason I've rated 4 star rather than 5 is the food. Just to be clear, the food quality was excellent and both breakfast and the beach restaurant were exceptional but I thought the dinner menus were poorly designed leading with one ingredient (we live in London and I realise many top restaurants currently do the same) and a couple of evenings I really didn't fancy anything based on the descriptions but the food was lovely when it arrived. As it's towards end of season a fair few ingredients / dishes / wines were not available (eg no edamame on the Asian menu). Overall a lovely experience.

Our romantic getaway was beyond our expectations. From the initial outreach of the Guest Services team of Melis and Tugba to the level of care shown by the staff and the natural beauty of the Aegean coastline, this was a very special experience and one of the best vacations we had as a couple. I want to commend the GM, Mr. Can Goktas, for assembling such a strong team that anticipated our needs and more than delivered. The view from our ridge terrace room offered us amazing sunsets almost every day of our stay. The three beautiful beaches and the hiking trails along the coast were the highlight of our stay. As a shell collector, beachcombing was amazing in the variety of shells along the coastline. Something we noticed was the fresh air as we were surrounded by pine and olive trees all around. The builders did a wonderful job of keeping the vegetation that is natural to the surroundings. The spa is one of the largest we have visited and is well laid out with separate mens and womens area as well as a shared area where couples can meet up after separate treatments. The four restaurants we visited were all amazing in their own way, but the sunset view from Meze by the Sea was very special. All the staff were professional and customer service oriented including Ugur, Emel, Ozgur Bozkurt, Salih, and Marhabat at the spa and many others whose names I forget. There are some members of the staff who went above and beyond that deserve a special mention. Tolga Karagulle ensured an amazing dining experience every day of our stay, often bringing off the menu items to us, making great recommendations and explaining the ethos of the resort. Onur Aral was such a friendly face at Ortakoy beach. We enjoyed great conversation with him and he offered exceptional service greatly enhancing our experience. When he noticed my wife was not feeling great one day, he brought some tea and also washed some wild strawberries I had picked along the coastline for her. Anil, the buggy driver, took us to the top of the resort at our request, allowing us to see the beautiful residences as well as an amazing sunset from the highest elevation. He was so kind and we asked for him specifically when we needed a ride. Irfan gave us a tour of the Earth Lab, allowing us to pick some tomatoes off the vine and explained the growing seasons to us. We are not usually repeat visitors to resorts as there are so many unique and beautiful places to visit around the world; however, Six Senses Kaplankaya might be the exception. I have already started looking at dates for next year. It really is that special.

From the moment I arrived nothing was too much trouble , the staff were very warm and friendly and any request was promptly dealt with . The facilities were excellent and the beaches - all three private , were spotlessly clean with many staff to help out when required. The highlight of my stay was the best beach at Anhinga which was straight out of a treasure island , but just a 15 minute drive on the shuttle bus - but was still on the hotel’s property!! Stayed on a half board basis and the food was exceptional. You could easily have lived off the breakfast all day. !!!!

Beautiful location, we had a room with a pool, and it was perfect to have some quiet time to ourselves. The property is beautiful, a peaceful oasis. Room was big, comfortable, and very clean (10/10 bed for our preference). Food was amazing! And the temperature in mid-September was a PERFECT 29c. The staff also went above and beyond constantly to make our experience the best it could be! We would love to go back soon & also explore some of the other Six Senses properties.
