It's a journey in itself to get to Anantara Mui Ne Resort, but that’s part of the reason it’s so rewarding. Four hours from Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne is a rare unspoiled beach destination that’s popular with kite surfers and visitors who prize solitude. Ten miles of sand front Anantara’s fragrant gardens, and just beyond town are the monolithic White Dunes, where a hike to a lotus-filled lake oasis is unforgettable.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in February over the Lunar New Year as a part of a larger group. The hotel had a tranquil atmosphere and was well equipped with plenty of loungers around the pool. It made an excellent place to recharge the batteries after a longer tour of Cambodia and Vietnam. The service was generally excellent and choice/quality of food at breakfast was superb. We would definitely stay at this hotel again should we return to Vietnam.

Had an enjoyable week at Anantara Mui Ne Resort staying in a Pool Villa. Following a 3.5 hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City we were checked in quickly and shown to our villa. The villa has everything you need and the garden and pool area is lovely. The main resort pool next to the beach is a good size with plenty of sun loungers available whatever time you get there. There is absolutely no need to reserve sun loungers but of course people still do!! The Flow Bar at the pool has a good menu for lunch and the staff at the pool and bar are excellent. The menu options at L'Anmien in the evening are rather limited but very good quality. There is a good selection available from room service and having a dining area in the garden of the villa made for a nice evening. Overall, a very relaxing week.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights as part of an Imagine Cruising package. While our initial check-in was smooth and the welcome felt promising, the experience went downhill rapidly. We noticed many reviews here mention the same recurring issues; despite management's canned responses promising "corrections," these problems are still very much present. To be blunt: this resort doesn't come close to a true 5-star status. The Room: Style Over Substance While the room was spacious, it was poorly lit and felt "empty" rather than minimalist. There was a glaring lack of drawer space for clothes, despite plenty of unused floor space. The layout was also frustrating—the balcony door opened right where the curtains were drawn, meaning you had to fight the fabric every time you stepped out. The bathroom was a design nightmare: Privacy Issues: The shower was adjacent to window blinds that faced directly into the bathroom of the opposite room. Hygiene: Using blinds as part of a shower enclosure seems like a major health hazard if not deep-cleaned after every guest. Utility: We had no hot water one evening, suggesting the resort cannot handle high-demand periods. Dining & Service Chaos Breakfast was chaotic. The staff seemed young and poorly trained. We ordered coffee and milk simultaneously, yet they arrived so far apart that the coffee was cold by the time the milk arrived. We were also repeatedly offered drinks we hadn't even ordered. Our second-night dinner was a disaster. A 4-course set meal took nearly 3 hours to serve. The portions were so minuscule that we actually had to leave the resort and find a local restaurant afterward just to satisfy our hunger. The Pricing Strategy The drinks are significantly overpriced—we paid £30 for two G&Ts. Beer and soft drinks roughly have a 90% markup compared to local restaurants. A 5-star label isn't a license to overcharge; there’s a fine line between healthy margins and simply shafting your guests. The Positives & Management Feedback On a positive note, the breakfast food quality and range was excellent, and the pool area and its staff were superb—they were the highlight of the stay. I shared these concerns with the General Manager, Victor. He was candid, explaining that the Vietnamese owners restrict the budget for the improvements he wants to make. While I appreciated his honesty, he accepted my comments without a single apology, which was quite disappointing. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a true luxury experience, look elsewhere until ownership decides to actually invest in the guest experience rather than just the price tag.

A taste of paradise! We had a fabulous room with a view of the fish pond, pool & ocean, framed by tall coconut trees. Food was wonderful & staff exceptional. As well as the morning ‘refresh’, there were little treats left as our room was prepared each evening by the housekeeping team. The Head Chef not only managed his staff & catering service but also was hands-on in cooking our meals and served us and other guests as well. The life guard on the beach, who minded our ‘stuff’ when we walked the beach & watched over us as we threatened to wet our ankles with his Red flag flying!! Most importantly was the Duty Manager (I believe Be^ is her name) who welcomed us on arrival, checked us in and ensured our stay was memorable throughout. A big Thanks to all the team who looked after us.

I don’t want to rave about this place as I don’t want lots of people to find out how good it is. But I have to be honest. This resort is so relaxing and so completely beautiful from surroundings to food to staff. We will be booking again for next year.
