Reviews for Grand Hyatt Mumbai

Do not go!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 19 hours ago

Our experience at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai was absolutely terrible from the moment we arrived. Firstly, when we checked in at around 4pm, the receptionist who attended to us looked visibly tired and exhausted. There was no warmth, energy or welcoming attitude whatsoever. For a hotel of this standard, the first impression was incredibly underwhelming. Things only got worse after we were given our rooms. We dropped off our bags and immediately headed out. When we returned later, we walked into an unbearable smell of dampness and fresh paint. The smell was so overwhelmingly strong that our eyes actually started burning. What made this even more unacceptable was that the smell was not there when we initially entered the room and dropped off our bags. It became obvious that they had decided to carry out painting or maintenance work while we were already checked into and assigned the room. How can a five-star hotel knowingly expose paying guests to such strong paint fumes? Carrying out painting work in or around an occupied guest room and then expecting guests to sleep in those conditions is completely unacceptable. The room was not fit to stay in, let alone sleep in. For a Grand Hyatt property, this level of service and basic consideration for guests is honestly shocking. We expected a luxury hotel experience and instead were greeted by exhausted staff and a room filled with damp, toxic-smelling paint fumes that literally caused our eyes to burn. A hugely disappointing experience and certainly not what you would expect from a supposedly five-star hotel.

Excellent 5 star hotel with a great service over the top staff from concierge to senior management. Centrally located, spacious, great ambience

definetely not a good place for young children if that is staff behaviour

excellend experience per say . except at the club lounge where a senior staff told my 18 year old daughter that a certain dress sense should prevail . it was indicated to me as I was wearing a sleeveless t shirt but told to her while I was not there . Very disappointing and she was asked to change her seat from the front and go to the back even though that seat was vacant .

THE BEST BUSINESS LUXURY HOTEL ALONG THE WEETERN EXPRESSWAY

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

THE BEST BIZ LUXURY HOTEL ACROSS THE WESTERN EXPRESSWAY Hotel location is at its best given the proximity to the airport and biz hub of BKC . The hotel main areas and guest areas are well maintained , neat and clean and has a amazing lobby and lounge . The Royal Club for the elites would be your most comfortable space to chill , have meetings and stay focussed on work as it's floor manager is immaculate in his guest services . Base category of rooms are avarage and our to suprise you with bit of glitches as house keeping is average in here . Hotel for its portfolio with a great brand like Hyatt is well priced and not overly priced so i suggest that it's a better option on the western expressway . Noise levels is zilch and you are well sorted once you are inosee the hotel , unless you are cautioned of any larger events in the hotel at the basefloor and you having a room on lower level can be a concern . Since I found the house keeping weak don't be too shocked to see that your room amenities aren't being replenished every day and your stale cheese etc are left unattended . F&B services on food choices is great and good options , while you will be noticing the poorly serviced morning breakfast display in the fruit counter wherein few fruits being served are either overeiped or partially raw and a concern , esp papaya and kiwi . Front office team needs much attention and more experienced staffs to operate more professionally and know how to treat your elite guests and know the room conditions etc before they CI a guest .. they failed miserably . ... The most disappointing aspect something i experienced for the first time ever .. you complain to the hotel General Manager and instead of behaving like a good well experienced and guest focussed person to receive complaints and attend to them , you will notice him replying back saying not to bother him and the worst will BLOCK YOU on his Whattsapp etc .. Strongly recommend this lovely property to travellers of you happen to have work related around Western Expressway.
