Reviews for Taj Lands End

Has more rooms than can be serviced

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

The hotel is occupied much more than its service capacity. Therefore, the staff struggles with all amenities - whether it is check in (rooms not ready till 11 pm) , long queues for breakfast (never seen this at any 5 star of this scale), fairly slow breakfast service. Otherwise, rooms and food quality is fairly good

Disappointing Experience at Taj Land

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 19 hours ago

Disappointing Experience at Taj Lands End, Mumbai (30 June – 3 July) I booked two Luxury Rooms at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, for my family from 30 June to 3 July. As a guest choosing a luxury hotel, I expected exceptional hospitality and service. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. We reached the hotel at around 12:00 AM after a long journey with our two young children (aged 10 and 8). Upon entering the hotel, there was no one available to assist us with our luggage. We waited for nearly 15 minutes before two staff members arrived. Instead of welcoming us professionally, they were arguing with each other, using inappropriate language, and fighting in front of us. We had to wait for them to finish before they attended to our luggage. One of the staff members was named Ketan. This was certainly not the welcome we expected from a luxury hotel. At check-in, I had specifically requested interconnecting rooms because I was travelling with my family. However, we were allocated Room 1537 (15th Floor) and Room 2007 (20th Floor), making it impossible for our family to stay together. The front desk assured me that they would arrange interconnecting rooms the following day, so we accepted the temporary arrangement. The next afternoon, before leaving for work, I called the hotel and reminded them about the promised room change. I was informed that Room 2005, which was interconnected with Room 2007, had been arranged and that my luggage would be shifted before my return. However, at around 10:00 PM, while I was returning to the hotel, I received a call from the reception asking if they could shift my luggage. I informed them that I had already coordinated this in the afternoon and requested them to complete the shift before I arrived. The staff apologised and assured me it would be done immediately. Unfortunately, when I reached the hotel and collected the keys to the new room, I was shocked to find all my luggage dumped outside the room in a messy manner. Even more disappointing, the room itself had not been cleaned. It appeared that the previous guest had only just checked out. The housekeeping attendant present in the room was equally surprised to see that I had already been given the room and immediately informed her colleagues that a guest had arrived before the room was ready. This situation was embarrassing and highly unprofessional. I have photographs documenting the condition of the room. Overall, this experience fell far below the standards expected from Taj Lands End, a property renowned for luxury and hospitality. From the poor welcome, unprofessional behaviour of staff, failure to honour the requested room arrangement in a timely manner, and finally allocating an unprepared room with luggage left outside, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. I respectfully request the hotel management to investigate these incidents thoroughly, take appropriate action, and ensure that no future guest has to undergo such an experience. I sincerely hope Taj Lands End will uphold the high standards for which the Taj brand is known.

“Taj”service ends here at Taj Lands End

Service ends with lands end Taj. Having stayed in Taj properties around the world, this is our ‘lands end’ experience. Taj brand being massively brought down by these low quality franchisees. A beautiful capture of our rooms goes like this…peeling wallpaper on the walls. We can hear our neighbours next door parting away. Crumpled curtains, stained walls, outdated cheap furniture, non existent mini bar, wc and bath low quality. Feels like we are in some run down 2 star in Benidorm. Basically nothing to please our eyes. Apparently this was an upgraded room. We wonder what the other rooms might be like if our room is supposed to be an upgraded version. Please save your money and spend it in an international hotel brand. We are done with Taj. Last stay and we really can’t wait this nightmare to end so we can peacefully get on with our teaming holiday.
