The Taj Mahal Palace

We stayed for one night to celebrate our nanny’s 85th birthday & the entire experience was flawlessly organised by the Taj team. From the wonderful food and elegant ambience to the genuinely warm, heartfelt hospitality, everything was exceptional and unlike anything I have experienced before. A truly special stay that we will most certainly return to.

Great location across from the Gateway to India. Outstanding service and food. Excellent room overlooking the harbor.

After arguing about how bad the rooms were and how far apart each family member was, ( we requested months ago to have close rooms, no low ceilings and good size) we then magically got somewhat good rooms. This is the experience we have been getting for the past few years everytime at check-in. It takes close to two hours to argue, go up check rooms, check alternate rooms until we get somewhat satisfying ones. This can all be prevented as we have booked months in advance with requests made prior to arrival date. Sadly this will be the last time we book at Taj to avoid this experience again. We will be booking at The Oberoi as recommended many times by other acquaintances, who have had the same experiences at Taj too. Rooms given are always the worst : - smells damp that doesn’t go away - Low ceilings - The smallest rooms (like a coffin) Sound travels no proper sound proofing - you hear up stairs, hallway and outside - So when there is music outside it’s the worst especially if you are close to the musician. The bed is so hard. Like sleeping on the floor. If the person near you moves the whole bed moves. Curtains are too short so once the sun comes up the light comes through from under.

Cant get any better, have stayed in many hotels in and around India but what taj gives you is exceptional service, memory, passion and high regards to their guest. Ritesh Sharma ensured that a small hiccup on my extension request is taken care of with ease.

Experience at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, was really amazing, and it's beyond words. Everything was good, starting from the warm welcome and at the reception, and the heritage tour by Adil with good explanations, food was very good. Rooms was very spacious.
