Consider yourselves in good company when you check into the Taj Mahal Palace. With its fantasyscape of Moorish, Oriental and Florentine styles, this architectural marvel has welcomed Maharajas, kings and presidents since opening in 1903. Along with panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and the Gateway of India, this spectacular Mumbai landmark boasts vaulted alabaster ceilings, onyx columns, hand-woven silk carpets and a magnificent art collection whose dazzling pieces range from Belgian chandeliers to Goan Christian artifacts.

I would like to share my deepest appreciation for Srizu Joe’s Spa, Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai I’ve been coming to the Taj for several years and, like many travelers, occasionally book massages while on the road. I also receive regular treatments internationally—at reputable salons and leading hotels—so my expectations are well calibrated. Some experiences meet expectations, some fall short, and some can unfortunately feel careless. This treatment, however, was truly exceptional. Srizu’s massage was not simply relaxing; it was genuinely healing. The quality of touch, intuition, and presence was remarkable—deeply grounding, restorative, and warm. After an intense six weeks of travel, I booked this treatment ahead of a demanding 22-hour journey, and it made a profound difference to how my body and nervous system felt. I only wished I were staying longer so I could book again. Thank you for such a beautiful, healing experience. I very much look forward to returning and will wholeheartedly recommend Srizu to others in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at the Taj. For the duration of our stay, we were well looked after by the exceptional staff. Their attention to detail is on another level. On one occasion, they brought a football cake for my son why always walks around in his jerseys! A special thanks to Chandrakanth and his team for making us feel comfortable. They made our stay extra special. Gaurav, Shanela and Zach from Perth, Australia.

This is a truly exceptional hotel. From the initial welcome, the check in, the room staff, pool team were all so welcoming and professional. We had a great stay which included eating in the Souk and the pool bar restaurants, how very good. The breakfasts were also brilliant and so good that you can choose between downstairs and the roof top. We also had a couple of trips from the hotel which were both great and good value for money. We would recommend the half day tour of the city, we had a lady called Bonita and the information was great and made the morning tour great

Every thing you'd expect and more. The housekeeping service is especially outstanding this trip - they were resourceful and helpful in solving our packing issues from over shopping in this land of textiles ;) The breakfast in the Sea lounge should not be missed (book a booth by the window for at least one morning, order off menu items like a pro - their filter coffee and pav bhaji were our staple), as is a room facing the sea and Gateway of India. The only improvement I'd suggest (but is understandable because of security issues) is to design the entry and exit experience better - now it's all congested at a tiny drive way and entrance and is super chaotic. The reception area at the Palace is also quite tiny and chaotic every day. Maybe offer in room check in and express check out?

This review's only about afternoon tea in The Sea Lounge, which is a very pleasant room with wonderful sea views. We were there to have 'high tea'. The various options (tea served at the table along with self-service buffet, plus sparkling wine, plus champagne, etc) were described on the menu and explained to us, not particularly clearly in both cases. Our main concern is that tea was served poured in a cup (very odd), but then brought to us in pots (initially far too weak with not enough loose tea). Additionally, it took a while to get any cold milk. Finally, at long last we got the tea we wanted. I recommend that the staff (who were, by the way, very nice and courteous) get more training in this tea aspect. For some guests, the tea (delivered quickly, plenty of it, with the right strength - ask the guest!, etc.) is essential. So questions that clarify all this with the guest and then make it all happen are important, because as it was today it was all a little amateurish. As a minor additional complaint/suggestion, I'd say that the choice of sandwiches was limited and a little bland, but my comparison for this is Brown's of Piccadilly, which is the gold star for this kind of thing.
