The Taj Mahal Palace

Staying at the Taj Palace is a journey into pure exclusivity in a hotel rich with history.The staff exceeds all expectations and makes you feel like royalty. The restaurants are excellent as well.Without a doubt,it’s a experience worth repeating.

I recently visited Shamiana in Taj Mahal Hotel, Colaba for breakfast, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what one expects from a property of this stature. The service was extremely disappointing. Our server did not bother to check on our table even once, a dosa order was left waiting for over 25 minutes and ultimately forgotten, only to be realized much later when we had to remind them. Plates were never cleared proactively, we had to call someone each time. The entire breakfast experience was ruined by sheer negligence. I did share my concerns with the captain in charge, but I’m not confident anything will change. Hence, I’m choosing to write this in a public forum in the hope that the management takes customer service more seriously. With a price tag of ₹3,500 for the buffet, such poor service feels nothing short of being cheated. The management should keep in mind that Colaba has many other premium restaurants where customer service is offered at its best, not something customers need to ask for.

The Taj Mahal Palace is truly an excellent hotel and one of the finest in the world. It is run by an utmost fine team of personnel who offer a warm, professional & truly seamless service. Each and every visit has been memorable. A very special hotel !

The Taj Mahal Palace is a Bombay gothic monument that fully consummates the fusion of Britain and India that took place during the Raj. It could not be better placed and could not offer better amenities. The pool is probably the finest in any hotel in India. Once you rise above the ground floor level, either on the staircase or in the lift, both manned with sentries to ensure no intrusion into the inner sanctum of the hotel, the atmosphere is rarified and timeless. The sitar and flute soloists on the staircase in the morning are especially moving and other worldly. Only the ground floor is frenetic, with people scurrying from restaurant to restaurant, and it can feel as if you are sharing the hotel with all of Bombay. Even with the guided tour we did not see everything there is to see in the hotel in the three days we were there. A sojourn of four or five days is optimal.

I recently spent a night at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the service felt warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful, exactly what you’d expect from a property of this calibre. My room was beautifully appointed, blending classic charm with modern comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view of the harbour added an extra touch of magic to the stay. Even though I was there for only one night, I felt completely looked after, whether it was through the immaculate housekeeping, the prompt in-room dining service, or the seamless check-in experience. The hotel’s ambience is truly iconic. Walking through the corridors filled with history and character makes the experience feel exceptional. Breakfast was another highlight, offering a wide range of beautifully prepared dishes. It was a short stay, but certainly a memorable one. I would absolutely return, and next time, I’ll stay for more than just one night to fully enjoy everything the Taj has to offer.
