Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor

Modern spaces, pretty lobby and restaurants, amazing staff and fun bicycle rentals for the English Gardens make this a hotel we return to.

The property is modern and has an expansive lobby and lounge area. The overall hotel design, however, is mixed, including the room design. In the common areas, the architect has chosen red glass for the railings and baseboards, with a dark carpet on the walkways. It simply does not look clean, and the housekeeping staff does not maintain the carpet clean (see the attached picture from the 4th floor). The rest of the staff, however, is wonderful, and you will enjoy your stay here even if some minor design issues and housekeeping issues extend to the room as well. For those of you here on vacation, the property is a bit far from the center of Munich, but the tram stop is right in front of the hotel. You do have to transfer to the bus/metro at Munchner Freiheit, but that is only a couple of stops away. Also note that, for some reason, Google Maps shows Schwabinger Tor as the closest station for Andaz, but the stop right in front is Parzivalplatz.

This is a great, well run hotel. The room was absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and very quiet. The breakfast was excellent. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We found the location to be quite nice - it's a pleasant residential area that is quite convenient to public transportation (tram, bus, and U bahn).

The hotel met all our needs and more. Both breakfast and dinner exceeded our expectations. The service from the entire staff, without exception, was excellent. It was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it!" ​

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and professionalism shown by all the staff members. There were several aspects of my stay that made it exceptional. Firstly, my first room was immaculate, spacious, and offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Secondly, the breakfast buffet was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to suit every taste. Lastly, I must commend the cleaning crew which was incredibly helpful in arranging my room and providing refreshments and the big Kuddos go to V. Marakoudakis for his excellent service.
