The Naivasha Country Club is a good hotel located right on Lake Naivasha, a good two hour drive from Nairobi. It is very conveniently located for trips to Crescent Island and Hell’s Gate, both a which are very much worth seeing. The hotel’s great attraction is the zebras and monkeys roaming on the grounds and not least the hippos that come out of the lake and on to the hotel grounds after sunset. For this reason, guests should call the reception for a security guard before venturing out, for example for dinner at the restaurant. This is a safety measure but at the same time the guards are very friendly and knowledgeable about the wildlife, and they will take you on detours to get better views of the zebras and hippos at a relatively close but still safe distance. The restaurant is buffet based and offers a fair selection. You don’t come to this hotel for the food but the restaurant is of reasonable quality.

We had a wonderful stay at Muthu Lake Naivasha Country Club with my brother and parents, and it was truly a memorable experience. We stayed 3 nights. Special appreciation to the housekeeping team for their timely response to our requests throughout our stay. Their efficiency and kindness really stood out. The food was delicious, and we sincerely appreciated the efforts of the kitchen/dining staff. The reception team was also very nice, welcoming, and friendly from the moment we arrived. It was a pleasure meeting the manager as well... such a friendly and approachable person, which added a personal touch to our stay. One of the highlights was the wildlife experience. Zebras, monkeys, water bucks, and hippos roam freely around the compound, yet they co-exist peacefully with guests, making the stay feel truly special and close to nature. Bonfires every night were nice. We highly recommend taking a boat ride with Peter from Baringo. It was an amazing experience and a great way to see even more animals, including giraffes. Overall, this was such a lovely, relaxing, and unique experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return!

Pleasant reception on our arrival, all the staff we encountered around the hotel were friendly and willing to help, all the meals are buffet style and although there was a plentiful supply, the quality left a lot to be desired. you can eat inside or out which was all laid out beautifully, when we booked through (booking.com) we weren’t given a choice of eating options, We Were told it was full board, I’m not sure why the Hotel has a “full board” option as there could only have been 6or 7 people who took lunch during our two night stay. On the plus side, the position of the Hotel could not be better, the array of animals we saw on our stay was fantastic , water buck, monkeys, Zebra , Wilder beast, giraffes, and of course the Hippos at night, far better than I imagined. The boat ride ( large 7 seater canoe) was well worth the money paid, going out for 1.5 hrs to crescent island, seeing lots of wildlife life and birds. On the downside, to say our room was tired is an understatement, ( standard double 1421) was positively “Exhausted” with far toooo many faults to list in this revue, the bathroom was disgraceful 😱 and “THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BED” it has ever been my misfortune to endure, it did though have a safe in the room, a + point. All in all a very enjoyable visit in-spite of the appalling room. A note to the owners, if you cut out the midday lunch, which not many people require, you could spend some money on updating the almost medieval fixtures & fittings in this room.
