White Elephant

Stayed here for 2 nights this summer in a “partial harbor view” room. The hotel room in Schitts Creek is more luxurious and I would honestly rather have stayed there… it would have been better value for money and at least entertaining. I won’t bore everyone with what was wrong with the stay. I will just say that honestly if I was given a free room I would not go back. Btw - The joke is on us everyone. Look up what the definition of a “white elephant” is. I rest my case. Shame on all of us for being duped.

The company I work for hosted an event at The White Elephant and it was wonderful! Everything from coordinating with the event planner & the catering staff, was seamless and smooth. We hosted a clam bake on the waterfront veranda for our welcome dinner, and it was a hit! The meeting room was well equipped for all our needs as well. The location was perfect for people to walk into town for after dinner drinks and socialization. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and throughout the property there are various areas to sit and be comfortable. The hotel has a top notch service team & the view and location is ideal for an event. If you can’t stay here, then I would definitely recommend having dinner at the restaurant on site Brant Point Grill. Excellent drinks and food! Lentz_explore

We had a wonderful visit in August. It was our 3rd stay at the White Elephant. We had a lovely harbor view room in the main hotel. Very friendly staff everywhere. Fun Brant Grill bar. Location is great, we walked everywhere. Nice pickup from ferry on arrival. Definitely plan to return.

This was trip for my husbands recent retirement. We were excited to stay at this hotel, but unfortunately it was a huge disappointment! The staff was unfriendly right from check in, rooms were just fair for the price. There were no amenities at the Inn where we stayed. We didn't know the Inn and main hotel were in 2 different locations, so we had to walk 2 blocks to get a drink, food, etc. You couldn't even get a soft drink at the Inn or any snacks - there wasn't even a mini fridge in the room for snacks/drinks. And no ice unless you requested it. We also learned we had to request to get our room cleaned. I've never stayed at a hotel where you had to let them know to clean your room, especially one that prides them self as a "nice" hotel.

Just stayed at White Elephant on first visit to Nantucket. This may be the most overpriced hotel I have ever stayed in for the price. The rooms especially bathrooms were reminiscent of a Motel 6, amenities are nonexistent and staff is rude and could care less with the exception of the courier service. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an elevated travel experience.
