A surprise like no other but ended up being one of a lifetime experience I will forever be grateful about, my girlfriend booked this tour, and it was a birthday treat and a surprise in a magical place like Fairmount Mount Kenya stayed in room 532 from 16th September to 18th September 2025. The service from the staff was exceptional and the staff members remain one of the greatest strengths of the hotel. In my view, the hospitality here is among the very best in the world. I’m grateful to the entire team, but I would especially like to thank Benjamin, what a legend, the entire staff at the front desk and the reception Agnes, Maria, Win rosé - who took such wonderful care of us during our stay and showed their great professionalism in everything they did. Thanks to them, this trip became a truly special experience for us. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone - it is, without a doubt, one of the finest places in the world. What sets Fairmount Mount Kenya apart is the complete sense of privacy. Each room the suites feels like its own sanctuary, set apart from the others and with no intrusion from neighboring guests. Once you close the door behind you, the outside world disappears. The views are wide open, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the stillness is unlike anywhere else we have stayed. The rooms have a welcoming character that blends comfort with a style rooted in the heritage of the region. They are well cared for, and the heart of the stay — The beds also deserve a special mention. Without exaggeration, they are the most comfortable. Each night we sank into them and woke completely refreshed. Wildlife is the most remarkable feature of Fairmount both roaming at the property or at the orphanage, the incredible work the hotel is doing in protection and the rewilding projects. Dining at the restaurant remained excellent. Every meal is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and consistently enjoyable. Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners all offer generous choice, high quality, and friendly service that makes each one a pleasure. The service team, from Angeline, Faith, Elizabeth, Wilson, Vivian, Christina, faith and many more I wish I could put all the names and obviously not forgetting a special person Chef Tracie or Tracy the magician in pastry section she is a gem and next time we are visiting if she will be around be rest assured we are taking her with us, we truly appreciated the effort and the creativity from the kitchen, food and beverage team they’re truly our MVPs they consistently show cased their warm, genuine, and attentiveness they are a big part of why we feel confident returning. Special mentions to the horse grooms who are taking care of the horses at the stables, a big thank you to Michael who took me out on a horseback ride and my new adopted friend mark the knife (the horse). We were truly heart blown by the champs taking care of the dog’s lead by James indeed they shouldn’t go unnoticed we appreciate them too. To the housekeeping team who were ultra-attentive staff and so friendly, helpful and professional whilst exuding happiness in their role and obvious desire to provide guests with the best possible experience we thank them too. This hotel has the dream team who combined to deliver a luxury experience that we can’t wait to repeat. Each stay leaves us rested, cared for, and connected to nature in a way that feels unique. Fairmount Mount Kenya brings together privacy, comfort, wildlife on your doorstep, excellent food, the most comfortable beds imaginable, and a team of staff who make everything run seamlessly. We are already looking forward to our next visit. For us, Fair mount Mount Kenya is more than just a hotel its our new home it has become the place we return to when we want peace, privacy, and we need to reenergize. Nestled at the foothills of Mt. Kenyan with sprawling greenery, golf course, maze, waterbucks, zebras & variety of species of avian flock right in front of your room gives a fantasy land feel to guests staying in this beautiful resort. Additionally as a bonus it has an animal orphanage right inside the premises, which you visit on foot. Historically the converted resort was the property of actor William Holden, explained beautifully by Hotel Manager Veronique & as a testament you are greeted quite theatrically by colobus monkeys all through. They are great subjects of camera & photography. The resort does not have any elevators so you need to keep your legs fit for climbing, though buggy carts are available for luggage & restaurant transfer. Our room on the 1st floor faced Mt. Kenyan directly & the thunderous clouds & big downpour made the atmosphere even more terrific, specially when you have a huge fireplace all lighted up in the evening turndown service with chopped wood & camphor. It is the highlight of the room. The room & bathroom are very spacious & comfortable. It gets very chilly at night & early mornings so make sure you have your warm jackets ready. Tusk is the all day dining for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Spread is huge & superb & Indian food has been standout. A huge thank you to the entire team. Fairmont Mount Kenya is truly a gem! From the breathtaking views right from the top rooms to the warm, kind, and ever-smiling staff who make you feel at home, every moment here was special. The activities were world-class — from biking through scenic trails, climbing Mount Kenya, golfing on lush greens, to exploring the maze — every experience was unforgettable. I had so much fun! This is a true 5-star destination in every sense of the word.

The place is absolutely break taking. The staff are so hospitable, services offered are above and beyond our expectations. The activities are worth a try.
