Infused with the warm hospitality of a second generation of Beazley family innkeepers, The Daughter's Inn is a gracious landmark mansion in Old Town Napa, California. This sophisticated yet casual bed and breakfast in the heart of California wine country features bedrooms quaintly named after English flowers and individually adorned with English and American antiques. Mornings begin with homemade breakfast that may be taken on the patio, while afternoons offer tea or wine in one of the "secret gardens" hidden within the property's exquisite English gardens.

Room was clean, loved the jet tub and the balcony over the garden! Staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast and outdoor space too!

We recently had a family wedding to attend in Napa and based upon reviews (including some on Trip Adviser) we reserved for two nights at The Inn on First. We found out that the property is now under new management and we advise that the service is not as presented in any of the reviews. A day before we arrived we received an email noting that there might not any one on site to greet us and we would have any information letter in an envelope under the door mat. This was the case, no welcome of any kind. The “welcome” letter gave us the front door code and confirmed our room number. But no directions as to where the room was located. The letter also advised that there were only two timed breakfast sittings and to sign up for one. We wanted the 8:00 am sitting but the sign up sheet indicated that this sitting was full and we would have to take the 9:30 sitting. As this sitting was too late for us we phoned the number provided, requested the earlier sitting and were told “too bad the sitting is full”. We explained that one of us had a diabetic need to eat earlier and were then advised to go into town and find breakfast ourselves. So a B&B without the second B. After complaining, and requesting a reduction in our room cost, we were grudgingly told we could have the earlier sitting. STRIKE ONE We carried our bags upstairs to our room and the disappointment set in. Frayed carpets, peeling paint, and an ugly peeling Mac-tac strip behind the sink to act as a tile protection. Tired furnishings and tired finishes. This old pig needs more than lipstick. If the inn didn’t already have our money we would have left and booked into better accommodation elsewhere. STRIKE TWO Many earlier reviews stated that the breakfasts were excellent. Not ours. Although pleasant service, which we received, makes up for many things it did not make it for the sketchy breakfast served to us. A one bite muffin, yes literally one bite. A fruit cup consisting of three pieces of mellon, one tablespoon of yogurt, and a sprinkling of granola. And the entree, some sort of tiny breakfast burrito with minimal filling and no condiments. And the bacon listed on the previous nights menu never appeared. And the 2nd days breakfast was just as bad. STRIKE THREE The reviews listed on the inn’s website indicating a five star rating are from 2023 and new management took over this year. This new management either doesn’t know how or doesn’t care how this once excellent inn should be run. Avoid it. The are plenty of better properties in Napa.

This is really a 4.5-star review, but since I can't do that on TripAdvisor, I rounded up. Just back from a long weekend stay in Napa at the Inn on First. This is a B&B in the City of Napa. The location is pretty good, given that the Main Street area is walking distance at about 0.5 miles from the Inn. We managed to walk to dinner two of the three nights there. The host and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, far surpassing any sort of continental style breakfast. It was cooked to order, including a different special each day. Also included in breakfast were juices, coffee, fresh cut fruit. Rooms were reasonably appointed, including a jetted tub in at least some of them (I only saw 3...including a heart-shaped tub in one...so I can't confirm that all have them). Ours had a fireplace in it, which was nice given the chilly temperatures that hit the Valley during our visit. What keeps this from being a perfect 5.0 are really small details. Ultimately, they didn't detract from our stay, but I note them as I know it will affect how others view the Inn on a more significant level. The Inn just needs a good dose of TLC. The sisal carpet on the stairs displayed a lot of fraying and probably should be replaced throughout the main building. Handles in the shower were damaged. There was rust that had dripped from hinges onto the baseboard. Things like that. Ultimately, it didn't affect the say, as I noted, but they were noticeable. I'm sorry that we did not get to enjoy their patio area alongside the Inn, but the weather certainly did not cooperate for that. To sum up...usually I'm not of a B&B person as I prefer the repeatability of a more established chain hotel, but I did enjoy the stay at the Inn, and I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Napa, which I think is the best endorsement I could make - repeat business.

We went in the first weekend of the new year for a quick get away. The inn on first was a surprise. We stayed in the vintage reserve suite. The room was spacious and had updated amenities. The cherry on top was the breakfast, really tasty and great personal service with attention to detail. We would gladly stay there again and recommend it to other couples.

Everything was wonderful. The breakfast was excellent, the bed was so comfortable, and the snickerdoodle cookies were delicious! Rooms were clean. Quick walk into town. We will be recommending Inn on First to anyone we know that is looking to visit Napa!

What a wonderful package the Daughter’s Inn turned out to be. Our room, the Geranium, was beautifully appointed, large and spacious – with a Jacuzzi and fireplace. The breakfasts were very good, the chocolate chip cookies were the BEST! Every conceivable amenity was available for use by the guests. We have stayed in many B&B's and this would definitely be one of the top ones on our list to return to.
