I recently stayed at Meritage Resort and Spa for a business trip, though I’ve also stayed here before for leisure and always enjoy the resort. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Ours included a fridge with daily bottled waters, a Nespresso maker with cream and sugar, robes, a large bathroom, and a big balcony with beautiful views. It’s a very comfortable place to stay whether you're working or relaxing. The bowling at Crush Lounge is a lot of fun. They serve great food and have lane service so someone will bring drinks right to you while you bowl, which makes it a great evening activity. We also ate at Olive & Hay for both breakfast and dinner. Both meals were excellent, with fast service and really good food. The steakhouse, Ember Steak, is also fantastic—the cocktails were well crafted and the steak was cooked perfectly. The pool and hot tub area are very nice. On this visit there wasn’t poolside food and beverage service, though I’m guessing that may be seasonal. One of the best things about this resort is that once you arrive, you really don’t need to leave. There’s a small store, several restaurant options, wine tasting, bowling, and both a family pool and a 21+ adults-only pool. Overall, it’s a great place to stay for either business or a relaxing getaway in Napa.

Overall nice hotel and experience with Amex perks. Rating it with 3 stars because housekeeping did a poor job. When we first arrived, trash was left in the suite. We called the front desk to have the trash removed, and after 3 hours, no one came to get the trash. We placed the trash in the hotel hallway because it was sinking up the kitchen area (pizza boxes and beers), and the trash remained in the hallway until 10am the next morning. For the price, we expected a higher level of cleanliness.

Did not get the room I had reserved and nothing was mentioned about it, otherwise would give it another try. Was told I would get a text when room was ready, which I never did.

I had a great experience at The Meritage Resort and Spa. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive. The property itself is beautiful, with a relaxing atmosphere that really makes it easy to unwind. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the amenities—especially the pool and spa—were top-notch. Everything felt well thought out and designed to provide a high-quality stay. Overall, it was a smooth, enjoyable experience, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Napa.

This was truly a frustrating, “snake-bitten” experience—unfortunately, very little went right during our stay. 1. Upgrade process (misleading communication) After booking, I received multiple emails offering a paid room upgrade. I accepted the offer—only to be told two days later that the upgrade was no longer available. Then, surprisingly, I received the same upgrade offer again. I accepted it again, and once again was told it wasn’t available. At that point, I was understandably frustrated. I was contacted by text and asked if I needed assistance, so I explained the situation. I was told a manager would call me, but I never received any follow-up. This felt disorganized and misleading. 2. Check-in experience (poor handling) We arrived at 7:00 PM to check in and were told there were no rooms available. This was handled very poorly. Communication was minimal—the receptionist walked away without explaining the situation, leaving us confused. To his credit, the manager was clearly doing his best under pressure and eventually secured us a room and applied a credit to our account. I do appreciate his effort, but the overall experience was far from acceptable. 3. Concierge misinformation (most disappointing) The most frustrating issue occurred the following day. We asked the concierge to make reservations at two wineries we specifically came to Napa to visit. We were incorrectly told that children were not allowed at those wineries and were instead directed to a different one we had no interest in. When we arrived, we learned that the original wineries do allow children. This misinformation cost us valuable time and ultimately prevented us from visiting both wineries as planned. This was extremely disappointing and avoidable. Overall, this stay was marked by poor communication, lack of follow-through, and inaccurate information—none of which meet the standard one would expect.
