A Thoughtful, Restorative Birthday Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I stayed at Stanly Ranch to celebrate my 40th birthday, and it was exactly what I was hoping for—calm, beautiful, and thoughtfully done in every way. The property feels tucked away but still warm and welcoming, with views that make you slow down without even trying. We had dinner at The Bear, and it never felt fussy—just really good food in a really good setting. Perfect for a special occasion without being over the top. I also spent time at Halehouse, which was such a highlight. The design, the amenities, the quiet—everything felt intentional and peaceful. It’s rare to find a wellness space that’s both luxurious and genuinely restorative, but they’ve done it here. This trip was a gift to myself, and Stanly Ranch made it feel like the right one. Already thinking about when I can go back.

Excellent stay at Stanly Ranch

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Stanly Ranch is an amazing property. Service, facilities, food, location... it's everything you would hope for. Check in was fast and easy. We previously have stayed at Calistoga Ranch, and really like the separate buildings concept. This property does the same thing, but is much easier to get around. Stanly Ranch is more modern vineyard vibe than Calistoga Ranch's wooded canyon feel. Food and service at Bear were excellent. The scallops in particular are a huge winner, as are the caviar tomatoes and I'm not generally a caviar fan. We did room service one night, and it was fast and perfect. It's hard to imagine a better location, with great access to both valleys. You usually have to kind of "pick one" or be very comfy with either windy roads crossing between them (thinking Oakville Grade) or lots of travel time but this location really makes it easy to do both, just stay a few days and pick a direction each day. With cooler nights, we really enjoyed the patio firepit, as well as in room fireplace. Having to choose between an outdoor shower and a giant tub is about the biggest stressor of the week. Tons of lavender and other herbs planed everywhere, and a great garden to wander through. Who knew cucomelons were a thing? We can't wait to go back.

One of our top Napa experiences.

This place is legit. You can eat off any surface. Everyone was mostly attentive. Probably one of the best in-room dining I've ever had. It's expensive, yes, but it's expensive for a reason and you get what you're paying for. It's not perfect- we had a few tech issues, staff forgot a few things here and there, but who/what is perfect? Only minor issues that didn't affect our trip much.
