Reviews for Hotel Arista

Disappointing stay — especially the service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

The hotel’s rooms and common areas smelled strongly of marijuana during our stay, which was unpleasant. But the worst part of the experience was the staff. About ten minutes after we got into our room, a staff member began repeatedly knocking on our door and demanding that I open it. Given the persistence and urgency, I naturally assumed there was some sort of emergency. There wasn't. The front desk had simply forgotten to give me my ID back when we checked in. Their mistake certainly needed to be corrected, but there was no reason it couldn't have waited until I returned to the lobby or been handled with a courteous phone call to the room. Instead, after we'd just arrived and gotten settled, I was subjected to repeated knocking and demands that I open the door because of an error the front desk itself had made. For a hotel that presents itself as an upscale property, I expected considerably better service and professionalism. I would not return.

Pay Attention

We reserved a two night stay, handicapped accessible, room at the Hotel Arista, after loosing power in our home. I noticed damage to the carpet and reported it. Apparently, this was already noted but not repaired. The thermostat was not working, they were aware that some "stuck" and sent up maintenance the next day. The bathroom door was a sliding pocket door, too heavy to open. Last, there is a Guest Amenity Fee that we were not informed about. It was obvious that this room was shamefully neglected, hardly ADA fully compliant. When traveling with a loved one who needs more assistance, it is important to feel you can rely on safe, workable accommodations.

Nice place

Nice hotel, good restaurant, great service from the staff. Complimentary shuttle to downtown, for dinner or shopping. We had the suite, which was very nice and worth the upgrade cost. A few small issues were handled quickly and efficiently.
