Palazzo Alabardieri Hotel
Via Alabardieri, 38

Stayed here for city break in February. The area is lovely, full of little bars and restaurants where the service was great and the food amazing. Definitely the best part of Naples to stop in. The hotel was very clean and the room was really good with nice, firm beds. The staff on reception were really great and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. However the service at breakfast and in the bar left a lot to be desired. When it was quiet the staff would stand in the corner and chat amongst themselves. This in itself wouldn’t be a problem if they paid attention to what was going on but if you needed anything you had to get up and interrupt their conversation to ask for basic things like a cup of coffee and it made you feel uncomfortable, as though you were intruding on their personal time. This wasn’t just an isolated incident it happened every single time. It’s quite a big deal and needs to be resolved. If the staff actually paid attention and did their job the hotel would be really nice, but this lets the whole place down, at breakfast in particular.

Friendly staff and within walking distance from the train station. Comfortable clean rooms and good breakfast with many options. If you have the time, the all day tour of Pompei and Mt. Vesuvius is fantastic.

I stayed in Naples for two nights at the end of a visit to the Amalfi Coast. This is a quiet, well appointed hotel in a safe walkable neighborhood. I never took a taxi except to the airport and walked to many areas of the city. The staff were helpful and my basic room was very comfortable.

The location is good. The room was spacious enough - but the safe did not work, and the minibar was not an actual frig. The bathroom was a generous size. The bar downstairs appear to be open for service one night - but then nobody was around the second night. The third night I went down for some tissues, and a cup of tea. The server brought me an empty cup - and I had to ask for hot water which was a bit odd. Breakfast buffet had a good selection, and service was very quick to serve tea or coffee.

The neighborhood where this hotel is located is central and stylish. It’s very quiet, too, and rooms are immaculate, if small. Very unfriendly staff, including awful peronnel at breakfast buffet who stood together laughing at clients and saying rude things in Italian. Overall, poor value for the money and little atmosphere.
