We stayed here for three nights in December. The room was nice and the staff were great—especially Roger, who served us at breakfast. He was one of the best parts of our stay. However, the downside was that the hotel was under construction, and we didn’t know that when we booked (or at least I don’t remember receiving any notice in advance). If we had been informed ahead of time, we could have made a different decision. The construction noise was noticeable, especially in the lobby, bar, and dining area, and the lobby space was very limited. Also, the parking fee was expensive.

I was informed at check-in that the hotel was undergoing renovations, which proved disruptive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Despite that inconvenience, the highlight of my stay was a waiter named Walter Campbell. Walter went above and beyond in every interaction. He remembered my name, engaged me in genuinely uplifting and positive conversations, and was remarkably attentive to even the smallest requests—whether it was hot sauce or grape jelly, he made sure my entire group was well taken care of. At a luxury hotel, you expect good service, and everyone was indeed pleasant. But Walter stood out head and shoulders above the rest. His professionalism, warmth, and personal touch made me feel truly valued as a guest.

Hotel under renovation! Yes they say it on their website and received an email. What they do not explain is the noise is very loud and constant from 8:30 am to 5:30. All day! You can hear it from every room in the hotel and 5 rooms on my floor are being worked on so workers coming and going. The noise is like a jackhammer buzzing along the ceiling of your room. ALL DAY. The staff is lovely and tries everything to accommodate but honestly they should not be open during this extensive of a remodel. You are literally paying to live through their renovation. Shame on you!

After I checked in, I was given my room keys, and immediately after taking the elevator to my room I was chased by a LOOSE AGGRESSIVE dog, no leash, barking like crazy and trying to bite me. The workers were in danger, as well. From what I gathered, it was “someone’s dog that had gotten away from its room” and was preventing me to anywhere on the floor I was assigned. Literally chased me to bite me, it was terrifying, I was frozen, and I cried, even. The staff mentioned they had called security, but they never came. I finally got a room in another floor, but no one seemed to care about the inconvenience and straight up fear I went through and they offered anything to make up for it other than “sorry for the inconvenience”, and AI texts which clearly weren’t communicating effectively with the staff at the front desk. I’ve been to countless hotels in my lifetime, and for the life of me, I cannot phantom how people are praising the customer service when they let a lose, random dog, whose owner was unknown, to terrorize an entire hotel floor. Even after checking in to another floor, an hour later, I went down to the lobby and I could still hear that deranged dog barking. It’s been the worst experience ever, and they have not even bothered to check in or following up. I’ve never heard of this chain of hotels before, I booked it through CSR The Edit, and it’s been nothing short of a nightmare. They tried to gaslight me into future stays at a “discounted price” and yet, I have not received a written confirmation of such an agreement, as the per John Dudek assured me he would send, as soon as I checked out. As an attorney, I’m appalled by the gross negligence of allowing this to happen, and at the blatant disrespect and disregard to basic human safety. Again, I’ve traveled a lot , and I’ve never encountered such a distasteful and shameful response like I was given both in person, and to my Google review. I tried to give them a chance to make it right, but they just keep making it worse. Steer clear from this place, it’s not worth the hassle.

We had a good stay at the Loewes in Feb 2025. Yes the hotel is a bit tired and not as updated as some of the newer properties nearby, but it had personality and was so close to everything so on balance it was ok. We rebooked for Nov 2025 for an event in town and arrived at 3pm. Room was ready and went up and immediately couldn’t even hear ourselves talk from the bathroom to the bedroom because of the drilling. It was so loud it felt like the drill was coming through the ceiling. We had to be in the room for work calls and prep for the event so it was not feasible for us to stay there. We called down and asked to be moved and they said that the noise could be heard all the way through the hotel so Moving wouldn’t help. We then asked for the hours of construction just to see if it wouldn’t last long. They said 8:30-6pm each day including Saturday!! We promptly went back to the lobby and asked for a full refund and found another hotel nearby (which we loved - the Conrad). To their credit the Loewes gave us a full refund which we appreciated. They did not apologize for the situation but did handle the refund without issue. Our feedback to management is to please communicate this to your guests before they book!
