We stayed at the Thompson for a quick one-night visit. After spending the afternoon downtown, we checked in to the hotel around 4:00. I believe Kimola checked us in at the front desk. We went to the Grand Ole Opry and returned around 9:30. As we walked past the front desk, Kimola said, "Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Landy." Wow! We were super impressed with her immediate recall of our name. That's great customer service, Kimola!

This hotel has everything you need - bar, restaurant, rooftop bar - and the staff are exceptional. The rooms were fantastic and the water stations on each floor were so helpful. The mini bar was stocked with everything anyone might need. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel is located in the Gulch neighborhood. It is about a 20 minute walk, or $10 uber ride to Broadway. If you come on Friday or Saturday night you will see lots of people in the lobby or waiting outside to get up to the rooftop bar. We went up, while it is chic, it is not our vibe. I was worried when I came in at 1 am that it would be too loud. But even though we could hear someone in the room next to us talking while we were in that hall, it has been completely quiet in our room. The room is clean, modern but with a retro vibe, and big enough to enjoy. There are some nice small touches, a well stocked bar & snacks, nice glasses and a corkscrew, a Nespresso coffee maker. There are wood floors with a rug around the bed, comfortable seating, and a well appointment bathroom. The only suggestion I would make is that they provide real mugs in the room for coffee & tea rather than paper cups.

We found the Rooftop bar incredibly noisy ( has a DJ up there!) and crowded. Impossible to hold a conversation up there.Lounge bar closed at 9 pm leaving no alternative. Poor breakfast choice , very poor ambience in the restaurant. Unhelpful staff Room cleaning poor No pool . Expensive valet car park at 65 dollars per day.
