It’s a Magic Kingdom for Kids! Read the reviews. Although I think some are exaggerated a bit, the prices are not. It is very expensive and there are kids everywhere! March is spring break so not only are there young kids, strollers are abundant, but also kids of the slightly older variety. Eighteen is the drinking and gambling age in the Bahamas, just so you know. Getting a lounger by a pool (there are 6 pools at the Grand Hyatt) requires an act of congress or a Christmas miracle. We were down by the pools at 8:30am and I am not kidding when I say that we finally secured 2 chairs 4 rows back from the Drift pool under a tree (no umbrellas in this area). I am not sure what the answer is to this problem but leaving a towel or a hat or small toy on chairs until you feel like getting to the pool just isn’t fair! According to the sign posted they supposingly remove towels after 45 mins but it is false. The 5 chairs beside us with hats and towels on them remained unoccupied from the time we got there until the time we left at 2pm. I am not sure if that happens at the beach we never got there. If the towels were removed at the pools at least 50% of the chairs would be free for others to use. To me it is really unbelievable and totally unacceptable. We do know at this point we will not be coming back to the Bahamar. For the price you pay you should at least be able to get a lounger but we have another day to at least try and enjoy this property which is huge and really beautiful!! Having an arthritic knee and overusing it , it was very painful for me to walk. So as to not have to walk a long distance my husband got us a cabana at the Reflections Pool. WOW! I was surprised he could reserve one the morning of. It was like another world! No kids! Peaceful! Private! Beautiful! Our own personal oasis! Our server/waiter checked in on us regularly and got us whatever we wanted. Always with a smile! We absolutely loved it! The casino is definitely the nicest in the Carribean. I did not say the winningest but certainly the prettiest. All the dealers we encountered were pleasant and friendly. There are numerous restaurants. Yes, you must make your reservation before you arrive. I know I made mine 6 weeks before and I was happy with my early dinner times but if you really wanted a specific time and restaurant I would book even earlier. I do recommend Cinko. Service was great and the food delicious! I had the Kam Lu Wantan a chicken stir fry dish. It was a little spicey hot but it did not linger or burn my mouth so I did enjoy it. The next restaurant that I highly recommend is Marcus. Exceptional! Service with a smile and the food is outstanding! We ate outside on a beautiful Bahama evening and it was truly perfect! This is our third time staying at Bahamar. One time at the SLS and two at the Grand Hyatt. The rooms have comfortable beds and good size bathrooms with everything you need. Unfortunately we had to cut our vacation short but we did enjoy the time we had. Although I said we would not be back to the Bahamar after all our good memories maybe we will.

Our stay at Baha Mar was extremely disappointing and fell far below what you would expect from a resort at this price point. The issues were not minor or isolated; they occurred on three of our four nights (we were given an acceptable room on our last night). Our room had stained sheets, visible hairs, insects crawling over the vanity, and dirty reusable water bottles, raising serious concerns about sanitation. Housekeeping was unreliable at best. We requested but received no turndown service on our first night, and on the following day the room wasn’t serviced until around 7pm, leaving us without clean towels. The bathroom situation was unacceptable, with mold in the bathtub, which we had no choice but to use as the room had no shower. We were locked out of our room for nearly two hours due to a door battery issue, leaving us without access to medication and personal belongings. On top of this, the walls were extremely thin, making it impossible to sleep. We could hear every conversation in the neighboring room, even though they were not shouting. Management offered points as compensation, but the amount was far from adequate to make up for the multiple nights affected by poor cleanliness, service, and noise issues. This was not a luxury experience. This was our second time staying at this resort and we will not return.

We were coming from another hotel in downtown Nassau and walked around town until near to 4pm check in arrived at 4pm checked in at the world travel member desk to be given our wrist bands with no room attached to it and to be told room not ready for another hour not great when they’ve had all day till 4pm to clean the room. Room itself was nice and had everything. Only can comment on swimming pig pub food was nice. The shops are extortionate and charge way too much for necessities like water 24 dollars for 3 bottles of water! Checkout lady at one desk shooed us away with her hands saying go to her over there so rude. Then went to the other lady and she was so cold guess the 2 checkout emails before I actually check out is the only politeness I get via words on an email. Glad I only spent 3 nights here 4star hotel in downtown was way more polite and accommodating. Stayed in quite a few Hyatt’s around the world this one needs more customer experience training for the high price tag.

Don in the front was very helpful. The resort was always clean and all the staff helped with no issues. Wonderful time well spent.
