Reviews for The Reef at Atlantis

Most amazing beaches, property, and staff!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Our experience at Atlantis, The Reef, was beyond extraordinary! From the moment we arrived to the moment, we departed every single person we encountered on staff was incredibly genuine, welcoming, helpful, greeted us in the hallways or opening a door. Hats off to the hiring and training staff for this property, their people are incredible! We did utilize a Chase luxury package through the Chase portal, so our package included a room at the reef with the kitchen, turn down service a welcome amenity of truffles, a $100 credit at the hotel, and $100 credit for breakfast each morning at all but 1 of the restaurants that was available for breakfast. I think there was only one exclusion. We walked the entire property several times and truly enjoyed the marina village, and the walk all around the marina itself, there’s a beautiful concrete path all the way around the marina and you can look at all the yachts that are docked there. We enjoyed the food, we ate a big breakfast every morning and just snacked during the day, in the evenings we had dinner at a restaurant on the property. For breakfast, we ate at Perch, a higher end spot with great service, second breakfast was at Poseidon‘s buffet, which was immense and offered a huge variety from meats and cheeses to hot breakfast items to an omelette station, a crêpe station, a waffle station, fresh fruit, lots of pastries and bread and toast, oatmeal, just about anything you could want. We ate at Poseidon buffet for two mornings, and we also had breakfast at Murray’s deli, which was a great diner style breakfast, great value, probably best prices for breakfast on the property. For dinner, we ate at Bimini Road, the burger was outstanding, our second night we ate at Cocodrillo, which was an outdoor bar restaurant right on the lagoon and they had fantastic shrimp tacos, and elote corn, and the last night we had dinner at Marina’s Pizzeria on the marina and some of the best pizza we’ve ever had! A beautiful little spot on the marina with tables and there was a fire in the sky sunset for our last evening. Upon arrival Sunday, 8 February the weather was chilly and cold, it had been cold the entire week prior so we were pretty concerned about our trip. Monday morning we awoke to sunny skies and 70°. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were all 70 to 72° completely sunny and a light breeze, and we spent the entire day every day on the beach in our lounge chairs with our towels. Just feet from the water. The paradise beach just outside of the reef we thought was the best. The sand was white and like sugar and the water was gorgeous aqua blues. You could walk the beach perhaps a mile one direction and then turn around and go across the inlet and walk the Cove beach as well. You couldn’t go past that because of the concrete pylons, but I think if you cross the bridge on land, you could continue down the beach in front of RUI and some other resorts. In the evenings, we walked to the property as there are many routes to get to your restaurant. We took the beach walk around by the beach where there’s a great photo op spot with some big rocks and when there’s a big surf, they splash behind the rocks for a great photo opportunity. Continue on and you’ll get to Cocodrillo and the lagoons, past Claudio‘s and then on through the casino the marina and the Marina Village. We walked several miles a day in the evening, just to see everything and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and gorgeous property. There were some incredible yachts docked in the marina and well worth the walk. There’s a great little patisserie called Plato‘s between the casino the Cove where you can pick up desserts or muffins and croissants, wonderful desserts! Upon arrival we had the Atlantis shuttle drop us off at the edge of the property so we could walk across the street to the village grocery and pick up groceries as we had a kitchen in our room. We also walked through “the dig“ on the bottom floor of the main building with huge aquariums and individual tanks with special fish, some huge grouper, eels, a beautiful jellyfish display, clown fish, & sand sharks, it was just extraordinary and the gift shop down there is terrific too. The entire staff was phenomenal from room service to the housekeepers to the turndown service, anyone who opened a door for us, the hostesses and the waitresses the front desk and the Bellman, we have never encountered a more welcoming and genuine staff! I would highly recommend Atlantis, we can’t wait go back as it’s only an hour and a half flight from us here in Orlando and Southwest flies to Nassau. Atlanta hotel is about a 30 to 40 minute shuttle ride from the airport and Nassau is a bit disheveled to get through but once you’re in the resort there’s no need to leave! Beaches could not be more beautiful!

Very Disappointed

Will not be back. Hotel lacks good service for the price. Water park slides closed the entire trip without clear communication. Reef rooms need updated for the price.

Wonderful relaxing experience!

We had a lovely stay at the Reef! Our room was very comfortable, well appointed (we had a kitchenette) and clean. The staff were lovely and welcoming. The grounds and beach were beautiful, and we enjoyed the quieter atmosphere at the Reef area. A special shoutout to Greg at the front desk! What a wonderful experience ... he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you Greg! It's people like you that make a vacation memorable!

Good food, great service, but cold pool temperatures.

The service and hospitality was great. We were disappointed with the water temperature in the pools. This impacted our trip significantly.

I regretted it.

It was already good! The food is not the best. Toys closed in the high season that is from December to April. I came 9 years ago, and this time with my children, I thought it lost a lot of quality.
