Reviews for SLS Baha Mar

Excellent resort!

Our stay at SLS was amazing! The staff was very helpful and sweet. They took good care of us. Miguel at the front desk is your guy! He helped me with all my bookings and shared all the perks of Disloyalty program which we signed up for. Will definitely come back to this resort!

Great Stay

Beautiful property and excellent service. Special thanks to Miguel for the extra care and going above and beyond. We had a group of 80 and there was something for everyone. Check at the Jazz bar for late night fun and great cocktails. Definitely coming back.

Stylish, Relaxing, and Unforgettable Stay at SLS Bah Mat Bahamas!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

From the moment we arrived at the SLS Baha Mar Bahamas Resort, we were blown away. The property is incredibly lush and beautifully maintained, making it the perfect escape. We loved the multiple pools—great for relaxing during the hot days—and there was always a spot to unwind. The jazz club was a hidden gem with a classy speakeasy vibe. The cocktails were absolutely perfect—crafted with care and style. Every detail of the resort, from the ambiance to the attentive service, made our stay exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stylish, chill, and memorable getaway.

I could write 15 pages on this place, the restaurants, and all the details. But that would be tedious and too long for any reader. So I will do my best to keep this in check. As you can see from my other posts, I am fair, balanced and I have traveled all over. Here's what you need to know: I am starting with the NEGATIVES: 1. Staff: you never know what you will get, but they are beyond rude and hate travelers. I am so very nice to all staff, at any establishment. Here: we had INCREDIBLY NICE staff at Cleo (in the SLS), and the most horrendous, rude staff, of all time at the front desk of the SLS, the Swimming Pig Restaurant, and pretty much any where else you go. The staff simply does not care about catering to you or making you feel welcome or special in any way. WHICH IS FINE. But don't expect it. Expect rude, quiet and hateful staff. I did have some very nice staff at Fi'Lia, Carna, and Cleo. Everywhere else: be warned. Staff: D. Absolutely horrendous. I won't go back, just for the incredible rudeness of the staff. 2. Food: There is no way to rate the food, in relation to the way the hotels (all three) portray themselves on the internet, through advertising and other ways, other than to say it is actually HORRIBLE. The Italian food at Fi'Lia was a JOKE. Horrendous. In the water park, Baha Bay, my daughter ordered a pizza and it was a FROZEN PIZZA heated up and put into a box to look fresh. Meanwhile, it the classic "freezer dots" that frozen pizza has on the crust. Horrendous. The food at Cleo was decent. At Carna, my chicken was raw. They took it back and did not charge me. The waiters were appalled at the level of raw to which it was cooked. The food is so bad, I heard so many people talk about it. Poolside/beach side, the food is decent. Not great, but the kids were happy with chicken fingers, fries, and that sort of stuff. Overall, the food is D+. I think you will find it hard to disagree if you stay here long enough. 3. Crowds: the place is mobbed and gigantic. It is not peaceful and quiet. There are 10+ pools. It is basically Disney World, but as a waterpark. You are constantly on the Baha Mar app trying to book reservations, find open spots, etc. You will not relax on this vacation unless you stay at Rosewood and hang at the private pool. 4. The disparity: The pools associated with the Grand Hyatt tend to have lots of party goers, drinkers, louder, younger, cruise-ship types. Which honestly surprised me. The pool at SLS, the water park, and Rosewood pool are DRASTICALLY different. The kids, however, had fun at all the pools we tried out. Just note: the Grand Hyatt pools are not relaxing, pretty, or luxurious. Maybe that's not what you are looking for, but if you are: make sure to book SLS or Rosewood. 5. Water park pools are freezing. I don't know enough about how heating a large, gigantic slide would work. But be warned, it's freezing. The lazy river is ice cold. It doesn't make much sense to me, but that's how it is. Maybe there is a reason for it. But beware. 6. I have to, unfortunately, again, remind the reader how incredibly bad the staff's demeanor is as a whole. I interacted with 50+ staff all week and I only remember TWO by name. Angela from Cleo was incredibly nice. and Miguel at check-in was phenomenal. The other front desk staff at SLS, especially when I checked out, was incredibly rude and nasty for NO REASON. Now the POSITIVES: 1 Casino: The casino is absolutely incredibly well-done, well-managed and immaculate. It is breathtaking and the heart of the Baha Mar. You don't have to be a gambler to enjoy it. There's endless areas for family's to sit and take in the sights, enjoy the incredible casino shopping (Rolex, David Yurman, Cartier, etc., right off the casino floor.). The casino is so well-run and everyone seemed to be having a great time. There is a sports book which is unique and very simple to use. I cannot say enough about the casino, it was amazing. It is even "kid friendly" = kids are not allowed to gamble of course, but they can walk through the casino, be with their parents in stores and restaurants that border the casino. Really, really, well done. 2. You will not get bored. Baha Bay water park is so very fun. And there is something for all ages. It is immaculate and life guards are everywhere. I will caution you: when you ask for towels at guest services (where there are offering towels and folding them for guests = you will get a dirty look. It is WILD TO ME). Mini-golf is the most gorgeous and cool mini golf course you will ever see. The tennis center, pickel ball and bocce ball courts are something out of a magazine. There is a super fun arcade, tons of shops, places to walk, and endless activities for kids and adults. 3. SLS Lobby: great, great, great spot. The Monkey Bar is a hit. Serves early morning coffee and breakfast, and mid day lunches and dinner and drinks. It's a great scene and entirely clean and tidy. The staff at Monkey Bar was excellent. 4. Cleo staff: amazing. Fun and easy buffet. Highly recommended. 5. Flamingos, Turtles, the touch pool and related experiences on the property are worth the extra money for private, guided, one-on-one (family) interaction. So very cool and all right on property. 6. Baha Bay Beach Club: RESERVE A LOUNGE, CABANA, DAYBED, or whatever for this spot within the Baha Bay waterpark. Once you reserve, the $$ goes towards your food and drink for the day. So excellent. Plus, you get very nice, dedicated, and excellent staff waiting on you. The infinity pools are heated and super clean. You get private access to the water park through a back bridge as well. I will not return due to the staff's demeanor throughout the resort and the food. But mostly, it's the staff. Food, one can deal with since the rest is so fun. But the staff. Scary.
