The staff here is wonderful, however the hotel is not being managed correctly. Minimal breakfast of only toast and bacon; no fruit and no pastries or eggs. The room was very nice. The grounds pertaining to the cabana area have been abandoned. Very bad looking with mold and disrepair makes the beachfront area look bad. No food at the bar and sometimes not even any wine. We went elsewhere to eat and drink

We have been to Sandy Haven 3 times. The entire staff is truly amazing. We were surprised to find out that the staff were not being paid. Absolutely disgusting way to treat their incredible, kind employees. Breakfast dwindled down to nothing by the end of our week. Seems like they will be bankrupt soon. Very sad.

Seems like the place is going bankrupt. We’re here now for breakfast. Bar is shut down no beer. We’ve heard staff have not been paid. We emailed the management with attention to director /owner Ann Chen. Seems like a situation of domestic servitude. NOT the vacation we expected- loved this place - been several times. The staff are in a bad situation- god bless them.

We have stayed here several times over the last 10 years, yet we strangely feel as if we were the last guest to be checked in before it goes bankrupt. The staff are wonderful, but have not been paid in much too long. I regret we paid in advance instead of giving cash directly to the staff because management/owner are unresponsive. They haven’t served breakfast because they don’t have supplies. If a “four star “hotel a perfect location on the Negril Beach, can’t afford to have Red Stripe for sale at their beach bar, you know something is not right. Ensure that the staff are fairly paid before you reserve or pre-pay any nights here.

So where do I start : On arrival at the hotel , the receptionist said that the pool was not working and it would be fixed by Friday, we arrived on the Tuesday and guess what it's our last day and it's still not working , jacuzzi is not working either all green and dirty . The on-site shop is closed , well can't even see it . Breakfast is 2 slices of toast , well warm bread, and fruit , sometimes it's not served due to staff shortage . The staff are friendly but looked fed up , cleaning ladies do their best . The location is stunning, but Sandy Haven is run down and in need of a total clean-up There are some beautiful hotels across the beach where we had tea every night . It's not a 4-star hotel .

Staff is top notch, classy, personable and plenty of them. The Chef is phenomenal; food is best around. All other places offered the same foods but not at Bongos! Go, stay at Sandy Haven and you won't be disappointed. -C. Schweiger
