So where do I start : On arrival at the hotel , the receptionist said that the pool was not working and it would be fixed by Friday, we arrived on the Tuesday and guess what it's our last day and it's still not working , jacuzzi is not working either all green and dirty . The on-site shop is closed , well can't even see it . Breakfast is 2 slices of toast , well warm bread, and fruit , sometimes it's not served due to staff shortage . The staff are friendly but looked fed up , cleaning ladies do their best . The location is stunning, but Sandy Haven is run down and in need of a total clean-up There are some beautiful hotels across the beach where we had tea every night . It's not a 4-star hotel .

We stayed here for three weeks and left with mixed feelings about our experience. On the positive side, the location is absolutely nice – right on the beautiful 7 Mile Beach – and most of the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The setting itself is what makes this place special. However, the hotel no longer lives up to the 4+ star standard it advertises online by TUI Netherlands. It feels like it once had great charm, but is now in need of significant attention and investment. While staff members are kind, only a few appear to have formal training in hospitality. Professionalism could be improved, as uniforms are not consistent and sometimes look untidy. Several facilities were also disappointing during our stay: • The swimming pool was closed and did not look hygienic. • The jacuzzi was out of service. • The restaurant and on-site shop were closed. • The internet was unstable and very slow. • Breakfast was sometimes served very late, or not at all. • Overall, the property shows clear signs of wear and a lack of maintenance. With proper upgrades, improved reliability of services, and a stronger focus on hospitality standards, Sandy Haven could once again become the luxury boutique hotel it claims to be. For now, the incredible location remains its greatest asset, but unfortunately the overall experience falls short of expectations and drops below 3* rating. I advice TUI Netherlands to make changes on the website more then they have done mow after our feedback!

If it wasn't for Pops it would have been an overall terrible experience. The hotel needs and total over hall. They still have keys to get in the rooms. The pool nor the hot tub was in working order although I was told on arrival that the pool was working. The beds were hard as a slab stones. The hair blow dryer almost caught on fire. One plexiglass for the shower so the floor was getting totally soaked. No music on the beach during emancipation week. We had to go to the neighboring hotels to enjoy music and fun. If my booking wasn't no refundable I would have left and went to another hotel. No all inclusive either that's a lie. The hotel workers were nice and professional. Pops is the only one whose keeping this hotel a float. Its not a resort so don't get that twisted. Over all I had to make the best of it although I know if I was at another resort it would have been much much better. two thumbs down on this place. I will not recommend this place at all.

Do not book here! We arrived 6/17/25. We had no hot water our first night! We are still here waiting on a revolution! The ocean view isn’t as advertised! No food, no bar were open our first night! The pool and hot are closed down, and won’t be open during our stay. It looks very unkept. This is no 4 star as advertised. I tried to cancel our stay online and was told we can’t cancel an move to another resort. So I’m being held hostage. Awaiting a resolution. I will add photos if I’m forced to stay here another day! We booked 5 nights :(

Positives - clean big rooms and big balcony. Small hotel so walk from rooms to beach is short. Getting a beach chair is no issue. Friendly staff. Simply outstanding water and 7 mile beach location. Cons - a bit rundown, decking needs replacing. Day beds are dirty and don't look like they have been used in a long time. Continental breakfast is a small assortment of fruit and 1 1/2 slices of toast. Thanks god the coffee was good. On the whole it was a wonderful stay.

Staff is top notch, classy, personable and plenty of them. The Chef is phenomenal; food is best around. All other places offered the same foods but not at Bongos! Go, stay at Sandy Haven and you won't be disappointed. -C. Schweiger
