Chef Aashi prepared really tasty food, and everything was fresh and well-cooked. The service was good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Chef Aashi to anyone looking for quality food at taj mahal palace.

A Beautiful Staycation with Incredible Dietary Care (With a few minor hiccups!)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Beautiful property, warm vibe, and commendable gluten-free care—with a few service contrasts! My partner and I recently stayed at the Taj Mahal hotel for a quick staycation, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The property is beautifully maintained, boasts a very nice, warm vibe, and the staff is genuinely willing to go out of their way to ensure your comfort. Room & Club Lounge Experience We booked a Club Lounge room, which offered a really lovely view of the city. A huge shoutout to the team for the thoughtful, good-looking amenities sent to our room, including separate gluten-free treats later on. We particularly noticed that the staff at the Club Lounge was incredibly responsive, proactive, and sharp. In comparison, however, the service at Machan didn't quite match that high standard. Celiac-Safe Dining & Kitchen Communication As someone with Celiac disease, I have to be incredibly strict about gluten, even in trace amounts. We reached out to the culinary team in advance and shared a detailed dining card. Upon arrival, the Executive Chef and his team met with us to discuss specifics. He brilliantly noted that they would avoid besan (gram flour) entirely due to high cross-contamination risks—something we had also highlighted in our card. The dining experience was a mix of incredible culinary effort and a few service/communication gaps: The High Tea: We headed to the club lounge buffet, where most items weren't safe. I was told a chef was making something separate. Unfortunately, the kitchen team ended up making besan pakoras. The chef preparing the meal hadn’t been briefed or shown our dining card. While it took a while to sort out, the chef was incredibly kind once we spoke, immediately whipping up a safe grilled fish with veggies, tofu, and a small dessert. I felt bad that his effort on the pakoras went to waste, and wish internal communication had been tighter, but his quick recovery was amazing. Happy Hour & Breakfast: For evening happy hours, they prepared a delicious gluten-free bread bruschetta and grilled prawns. Breakfast the next day was a feast—I had the keema (served with GF bread instead of pav), a requested ghee roast dosa, and a ragi uttapam. The shakshuka was decent, though prepared a bit differently than the traditional egg-in-sauce style. Breakfast Service Note: While the culinary team was excellent and handled the food beautifully, the service on the floor during breakfast was a bit choppy. The serving staff could have been a little more proactive; it took quite a while before someone even served us water. Special thanks to Chef Kishore, Chef Kaushik, and Chef Shanky for taking such personal care of my dietary needs. We were so full from the lounge and breakfast inclusions that we didn't even get to try the other specialty restaurants! Amenities & Facilities The Pool & Spa: The pool area is exceptionally well-maintained. I loved that they prominently display the water temperature and chlorine levels outside—a fantastic touch. The spa is equally pristine. An Eco-Friendly Suggestion: While the hotel uses glass bottles in the rooms, the pool and spa areas still use plastic water bottles. Switching to a water dispenser or glass options here would align much better with modern sustainability practices. A Small Note on Parking The only other slight downside is the lack of underground parking. Our car was parked outside for the duration of our stay and was quite dirty by the time we checked out. Final Verdict Overall, it was a great stay. Despite the minor hiccups with floor service and parking, the sheer warmth of the team and their genuine effort to accommodate a severe medical dietary restriction safely made this a memorable stay. We had a great time and will definitely be returning!

Very very good, great staff and location!

From the time we entered the service was excellent. The hotel is beautiful, clean and very well appointed. The club lounge is ok, the service is a little slow. Pool was awesome and the grounds are immaculate and an oasis in the Delhi traffic and noise. The sauna, steam room are very nice too. Breakfast is fantastic and they are fully aware of Gluten Free options. Would recommend staying here again.
