About the Hotel

Experience the newly renovated Hotel de la Poste – French Quarter, A Renaissance Hotel. We've upturned expectations in the Big Easy with bold design. Guests can escape the bustle of Bourbon Street to explore the allure of the Bayou. Each design element conveys a story of its own, meticulously curated with intention to transport guests behind the hotel’s facade and immerse them in the enigmatic charm of the renowned swamplands - all within the comfort of their room. A bold navy backdrop with French-style wall moldings distinguishes the bedroom from the seating area in each guest room with an open floor plan. Touches of Sazerac orange orange – the official spirit of New Orleans – are present throughout the design, and the rooms are completed with marble coffee tables, gold hardware, soft lighting, and framed black-and-white line drawings of Jazz singers in action. Varying layers and tones blend together to create textural gumbo that seamlessly works together. With 97 luxurious, newly renovated guest rooms, you'll never want to leave. Nice Property - Extremely Rude Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

What a disappointment. The property is actually pretty nice, and is in a great location – located withing the French Quarter zone, it’s very walkable and aesthetically charming. Where this hotel let us down was the attitude of the front desk staff and the overall service. When we arrived, the person who checked us in acted like she was bothered by our presence, and almost had an attitude of “why are you here?” 1) No greeting for being a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum [for life member], 2) no explanation of property or offering any further information, 3) downright rude when asked any questions almost as if to intimidate us to stop asking questions. The checkout staff at the front desk was equally rude the next day. I will note the little “at your service [or whatever they called it at this property] button the phone connected to no one I ended up having to press zero to be able to speak to the operator to ask a simple question. It’s unfortunate because this could be a very nice place to stay, but the staff really ruined the experience. I would never stay here again. You can see from the photos that we had a pretty nice room, and the property is cute – but it is really too bad about the attitude of the employees.

Wonderful experience

Amazing staff. Great bar. Great food. The rooms were well appointed. Great centralized location. Close to the French quarter. One of the managers on the grounds was welcoming and friendly. Latonya in the restaurant was a wonderful person and basically picked out our entrees which were all delicious. Rooms super clean and beautiful. Great pool and patio area. We loved it her.

Awful Customer Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

As a Gold member I was told I would have a late checkout at 2PM. The morning of the Staff originally said no that they were booked full, when we showed them that you could book online, they made it 12. That was after we had to go downstairs because nobody would pick up the phone. When we called customer service, they couldn’t get them to pick up the phone either to try and address our issue. This was after the power went out at about 1030 and didn’t return until about 530. The power going out wasn’t their fault, but after sweating in their hotel room for around 400 a night you’d think you’d be able to talk to someone or them work with you. Instead, you get a rude front desk and one that can’t be reached short of standing on their desk because they just ignore their own phone system.

3rd Block Depot

KG made an amazing “Smoked Sazerac” from scratch based on her knowledge of the product and matching it with her customer. Amazing experience! Highly recommended to stop in 3rd Block Depot. See her!

Wedding and mini honeymoon celebration with friends

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We had an awesome experience for our trip mini honeymoon celebration. Our bartender Ter’orc was phenomenal. They were super friendly, attentive, and always made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were great, and their positive attitude made the whole experience even better. The whole staff helped make our celebration feel special and stress-free. We truly appreciated the great service and hospitality. Highly recommend! Would definitely come back to Hotel de la poste again
