Wedding and mini honeymoon celebration with friends

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We had an awesome experience for our trip mini honeymoon celebration. Our bartender Ter’orc was phenomenal. They were super friendly, attentive, and always made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were great, and their positive attitude made the whole experience even better. The whole staff helped make our celebration feel special and stress-free. We truly appreciated the great service and hospitality. Highly recommend! Would definitely come back to Hotel de la poste again

Fantastic spot for a trip- nice rooms, pool, convenience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Hotel de la Poste was a fantastic hotel choice- the location is convenient on a relatively quiet street near lots of shops and food; the pool and courtyard and nestled in from the street so very peaceful; rooms all clearly newly renovated and clean. The pool had towels available, fresh water throughout the day (necessary in the June heat), and was close to the restaurant so you could order food/drinks for there. There was fresh ice water with fruit or cucumbers by the easy-to-access elevators that were located outside by the lobby area, and the hallways upstairs were also nicely maintained. The room itself was lovely, lots of fancy elements like unique lighting and velvet seats, with a cool orange shower room and nice smelling shampoo and soap. The front desk said they were manned 24 hours a day and check out was simple. The stay came with a $15 credit for food and beverage daily which they applied to the food we had at the restaurant (food wasn't great but wasn't terrible, worth it to sit by the open doors and people-watch with a drink). Highly recommend.

Exceptional Sazerac and Outstanding Hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I’ve been coming to New Orleans for years and have had my share of Sazeracs throughout the city, but the one KG made for me at the bar in Hotel de la Poste was hands down the best I’ve had in New Orleans. What made it special wasn’t just the cocktail itself, although it was perfectly balanced, smooth, and exactly what a Sazerac should be. It was the experience. KG took genuine pride in his craft, was incredibly personable, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. In a city known for great cocktails, it’s easy to take a drink for granted. KG reminded me that the bartender behind the bar can make all the difference. His attention to detail, hospitality, and knowledge elevated what could have been just another drink into a memorable experience. If you’re staying at Hotel de la Poste, do yourself a favor and stop by the bar. Ask for KG and order a Sazerac. You won’t be disappointed. One of the highlights of our trip to New Orleans.

Disappointing

We’ll be back to New Orleans, but not this hotel, which we booked because it’s a 2025 Travelers Choice. The positives were no disasters, good location & friendly housekeeping/bar/bell hop staff. Premier room was dark w tiny window to alley. Titanium status (no upgrade, no surprise) and front desk pushing $15 bar & food coupons and discounts for tours booked through hotel, while offering daily complimentary prosecco that was only available 1 day, and charging $2.50 to call a taxi.

Great location, hotel, and staff!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

This was our first time to New Orleans and experiencing Mardi Gras. I selected this hotel based on the proximity to the popular destinations within the French quarter and the surrounding area. Furthermore, we were within a couple minutes of walking distance to bourbon street without being exposed to the noise and madness that comes with it. From the moment we arrived we felt valued as guests. Ayana always delivered on service with a smile. She always went above and beyond in how helpful she was providing insight to the area. I can’t remember the last time that a hotel over delivered on the customer experience. I appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel and the size of the room. It was definitely roomy considering many of the properties are older. I also appreciated how quiet it was considering Mardi Gras was happening around us. Like I said before, you are close but not that close to be disrupted. The bar served good drinks and the food we had at the restaurant for breakfast and lunch was decent. There are way too many good places to eat at in the area that unfortunately for the hotel are that much better. For a quick bite and if you don’t have the time, then this location would serve a purpose. When we return this hotel will be on our must list for future stays
