Perfect location in the French Quarter. The hotel and room was perfect for a weekend getaway. The housekeeping was amazing like they knew what we wanted and were one step ahead of us

The Hotel Monteleone is a wonderful old style hotel. The service is excellent. The room was comfortable and properly appointed. The cost was reasonable for the accommodation and location.

Very charming and luxurious. We stayed in a suite. Loved how it had an extra 1/2 bath. It’s in a great location. We loved it! You must eat at Mr. B’s accross the street!

We arrived late at night from a long flight, and were quite disappointed in our greeting. As I checked in, I started to ask the woman at the desk if we could perhaps have a room on a higher floor to avoid noise. Before I could even finish my question, the woman interjected, in a hostile tone, “MA’AM! The rooms are pre-assigned! Did you request a high floor when booking?” I was quite taken aback by this reception, and managed to sputter out that I didn’t recall. She did become somewhat friendlier after that, but this gave me an unfavorable initial impression of the hotel. This woman should not be greeting guests this way. That aside, we did, however, have a wonderful stay. The hotel is perfectly located in the French Quarter, one block off of Bourbon Street. It is relatively quiet, though even at this location we did hear street noise on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as some music/noise in the hallways and from the other rooms. (Not sure if that can be avoided, it’s New Orleans, but the staff could do a better job of addressing loud guests in the rooms- one night we even heard loud music blaring from a room.) We had a room in the Iberville tower. The rooms there have been recently renovated and are beautifully appointed with modern touches, but they are very small. The size of these rooms is disclosed on the website when you book; the size of the other older rooms is not, probably because they are not unusually small. Pay attention if this is important to you. It wasn’t for us, as we were only two people, and we liked the modern redesign. I will note that there is a nightlight on the bathroom mirror that can’t be turned off, and since the door is glass, it lets light into the room at night. This is in addition to the motion activated lights under the bed, and a strange blue light on the ceiling, possibly the sensor, that goes on and off at random times. If you need absolute darkness to sleep, this could be a problem; there’s too much unnecessary light even when the lights are technically off. The food in the restaurant is very good, and the staff is friendly. We did not use the pool or the gym, but they looked nice. We did do the Carousel Bar experience. It was informative, but in my opinion it is overpriced at $100.00 per person (it does include one drink and a history presentation.). There must be a better way to accommodate paying hotel guests who wish to sit at the hotel bar briefly before it opens, but do not wish to continue to sit there all day. For our pre-opening presentation, all of the seats weren’t even full, most likely due to the price. It came off as a pure cash-grab. All in all, this is a lovely hotel, and I would recommend it for the location
