The hotel was in a great location. The reception and bar areas are stunning. The room was massive and came with a fridge. A Kettle was supplied on request. We stayed for 4 nights. The only negative was not being warned that $447 would be pending on our credit card for 7 days. It's $80 a night security deposit and $30 a night resort tax which I personally believe is excessive. It only went up the week before so we didn't know. So just be prepared for that as we weren't.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful.Staff helped my husband and I learn how to get around New Orleans without taking a taxi.Staff informed my husband and I about the best places to go to in New Orleans and shared locations that tell a story about Nola.

Checked into the Hyatt Centric French Quarters for a long weekend with family for a bday celebration. Firstly, all staff were amazing! Checkin desk staff, bellman (Eric), bar staff and resturant breakfast staff (good food & service)....all great! My disappointment was with the room @ the pool level....our room opened directly in front of the pool and bar. No issues with noise from the pool or from the music rather, my issue was with the room itself! The room was VERY dated. The room seemed very dark despite the light from the windows near the pool. The bathroom was dark and dingy with ripped wallpaper, worn round mirror over the sink, bathtub with mold and rust stains. The door handle on the closet door near the main entrance was falling apart and the room had a fading smell of cigarettes smoke. I am sure the hotel is well worn due to the partiers from Bourbon Street which is a few feet away and from all other festivies i.e Mardi Gras. Great curb appeal though @ the front entrance of the hotel and a good looking hotel lobby. Perhaps there may be other rooms on higher floors or suites that are in better condition but our room was a bit disappointing. Kinda reminded me of my undergraduate days when we were all poor but were able to combine enough money together to get a cheap room at a major brand hotel. Hotel was in a good location and within walking distance to all activities in the French Quarters/waterfront/Streetcar

Stayed here for 4 nights for our 20th wedding anniversary which was not acknowledged at all at any point in our stay. Not even a happy anniversary at check in. Our room faced Iberville street, what a nightmare we slept 1 night of 4. We were given a voucher for a couple of drinks at the bar which we used a couple of nights later. Beds are comfy and the room was big. The aircon is noisy so couldn’t have that on, in the night. We were woken one morning after finally getting to sleep by the housekeeping at 8.30am trying to get in the room. Granted I didn’t have the don’t disturb sign on the door but I didn’t think I’d need too for 8.30am!!
