The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times but after this most recent stay, I feel compelled to provide a review. Let me just say, I have always loved the Ritz. It is my favorite hotel in New Orleans but this last visit was extremely disappointing. The food and bar staff are severely lacking. Receiving your food and drink orders takes a ridiculous amount of time. Something as simple as coffee refills during breakfast should be expected and not have to be requested. The servers all stand around chatting or on their phones and are not attentive to the customers. The specific issues I experienced were in the Davenport lounge on two separate occasions and at breakfast. It is clearly not the standard of this brand to deliver this type of service. Very disappointing.

This is a very elegant hotel with top notch amenities. Located in the French Quarter, this hotel offers ultimate convenience, with restaurants and cafes just a few minute walk, not to mention its proximity to Bourbon street where the action is. The fresh flowers at the lobby looked fabulous. The room looked elegant and clean. The toiletries are, of course, my all time favorite. The view of the courtyard was amazing. The grounds were very much well kept. The staff that stood out was Corayma Castillo. She was very kind, professional and helpful. Everyone else were otherwise great. I loved that they had tea and beignets available at the lobby in the afternoon. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

Not sure how anyone could give this hotel anything less than 5 stars. I read some of those negative reviews, and I honestly did not share the same experience. My husband and I stayed here 3 nights and primarily stayed at the hotel, so we got to experience a lot of their amenities. We both got a facial and massages. I wish I could remember all their names, but the ones I can were Trish or Tish, Tiffany, and Star. They were all phenomenal and worth every penny. Additionally, we paid extra for our room, so we were able to take advantage of their club lounge. They have delicious snacks, drinks, breakfast, light lunch items, desserts, and drinks/cocktails of any kind. We looked at the type of liquor they used for our drinks, and it was only the best. We really enjoyed talking to a woman by the name of Sunday, she was very kind and helpful. We also were met with kindness by two other men at the lounge as well, but unfortunately, we did not catch their names. Valeria at the front counter was more than kind. She helped me out and has no idea how much that meant to me. The room was impeccable; very clean and roomy. They also came in at night for turndown service. We had dinner at MBistro, and we actually found the food and service better than GW Fins down the street, and we enjoyed the wonderful jazz band there as well. The location couldn't have been better. It's an easy walk to Bourbon Street. We visit New Orleans often as we have family in the area, and will no longer stay anywhere else.

We’ve been staying at the Ritz whenever we have the opportunity to visit New Orleans, and it has become our favorite place to stay in the city. Of all the Ritz properties I have experienced, this one stands out as my favorite. Every visit leaves a lasting impression and reminds us why we keep coming back. For our most recent stay we booked the club level, and it was absolutely worth it. The club lounge experience was exceptional, with incredible food presentations throughout the day, from breakfast to evening offerings. Everything was beautifully prepared and consistently delicious, and the lounge itself provides a relaxed, elegant space to unwind. The service there was just as impressive as the rest of the hotel, with staff who were attentive, friendly, and clearly dedicated to making every guest feel welcome. One of the things that really stood out during this stay was how amazing the recent renovations are. The property feels refreshed and beautifully updated while still maintaining the classic elegance and charm that makes it feel like a true Ritz-Carlton experience. The rooms and common areas feel luxurious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The location is another huge advantage. It is perfectly situated with easy access to the French Quarter and many of New Orleans’ most iconic attractions, restaurants, and entertainment. It is close enough to walk almost anywhere you want to go while still feeling like a quiet, refined retreat when you return to the hotel. What truly sets this property apart, though, is the staff. The team here is impeccable. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, everyone you encounter is warm, professional, and genuinely eager to ensure your stay is perfect. That level of hospitality is what turns a great hotel into a truly memorable experience. This property continues to set the standard for us whenever we visit New Orleans. It is elegant, welcoming, beautifully maintained, and consistently delivers an outstanding stay. Highly recommended. We cannot wait for our next visit.

You can rarely go wrong with Ritz, and this property is no exception. Extremely clean and lots of luxuries to be sure, but what sets this place apart is the incredible service. We had the distinct pleasure of having access to the lounge which offered breakfast, a light lunch, hors d’ouevres and deserts, not to mention complimentary cocktails. For all intents and purposes we were treated like royalty by the lounge staff, who simply could not do enough for us. In particular, Torrence, Sunday, Rachele and Kennedy each went way out of their way to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. They were absolutely amazing and made our trip. Because of these people we will choose the Ritz, with lounge access, on any return trip to New Orleans.
