★★★★★ 5/5 Hands Down the Best Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This is actually my second review, and I’m writing it because of how great my experience was. Everything was excellent, from the cleanliness to the hospitality, service, and overall atmosphere. The staff and management genuinely made me feel welcomed, respected, and appreciated. Ryan deserves special recognition. He is a natural leader who consistently takes initiative, communicates extremely well, and makes sure the guest experience comes first. He has a strong sense of accountability, professionalism, attention to detail, and ownership in the way he approaches his role. He’s approachable, dependable, and knows how to make people feel taken care of while representing the property extremely well. You can tell he takes pride in his team and the hotel as a whole. Ryan has the leadership presence and management mindset that deserves to be recognized when opportunities for advancement come up. Mani was absolutely awesome, professional, respectful, attentive, and consistently on point. Jalen was outstanding as well. The entire management staff deserves credit for creating such a great experience. I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt this much genuine hospitality and appreciation during a hotel stay. Hands down, one of the best hotel experiences of my life. I’ll absolutely be back, and next time, I might have to stay two week. Ryan, Mani, Jalen, and the entire management team, you guys are the reason I’ll be coming back.

Enjoyable Stay, Would Recommend

It's a very different hotel experience in some ways: unusual and vibrant decor (perhaps conflating eccentricity and creativity), tucked away on Baronne at the border between the warehouse/downtown district and French Quarter. Easy and safe walk to FQ, weather permitting. I initially found the layout of the room very odd, but I quickly began to appreciate the thoughtful design touches and the incorporated and useful technology that makes the stay more comfortable. For example, the front half of the room holds the dressing area with two separate closets and a shower, sink and toilet (literally a water closet) each in its own separate area. The back half of the room is the sleeping/sitting area with a bench sofa and a particularly comfortable king bed. I would have preferred a hard surface headboard rather than the plush velvet for sanitary reasons, but the bed seemed very clean. It's very nice to not have to look at luggage or a bathroom where one relaxes or sleeps. The dressing area has a large, well-lighted mirror for makeup or shaving. There is a well-stocked bar and fridge (albeit costly). The lobby and parking valets are very kind, friendly and accommodating. The hospitality department makes it look easy to greet and assist with personalized attention. They cheerfully and efficiently help arrange for you to get where or what you need on-site or around the city. The general feel is casual and easy-going, but not at all to the point of being neglectful. You won't have someone take your luggage to your room and do the initial set-up for you, but so few hotels do this anymore, anyway. On-site dining is pretty limited, but one doesn't usually go to NOLA to dine in a hotel. Despite having an evidently popular rooftop bar (which I didn't have time to visit) my sixth floor room was very quiet except for a constant, low buzz from the room vents. The room was also clean, with hard surface floors except for an area rug under the bed. It was overall a very enjoyable experience and a good value for a late August stay. With $55 a day valet parking, I would recommend just using taxi or car services if you don't need to wander outside of the city.

We Had a Wonderful Time

We travel to New Orleans a few times a year, and this was our first stay at Virgin Hotels. We were celebrating my fiancée’s birthday and our anniversary, and the stay was so far above and beyond that I had to write a review—Virgin will definitely be our home base from now on. From check-in to departure, the service was remarkable. Huge shoutouts to Keeva (Director of Rooms) and Kyle at the front desk for their warm welcome and thoughtful care throughout our trip. The doormen out front were also unbelievably friendly and helpful at every turn. We travel for food, and Commons Club blew us away. The culinary and cocktail offerings were exemplary—rare for a hotel restaurant. Sincere compliments to the chefs! Erik behind the bar was phenomenal; we spent three evenings with him enjoying his incredible bespoke cocktails. Sienna served us at dinner and brought top-tier energy and hospitality. The hotel amenities are excellent across the board. The gym is state-of-the-art with top-quality equipment. We also spent a day at the rooftop pool; while on the smaller side and likely busy in peak season, we had zero issues securing loungers right by the water, and having the pool bar right there was a great touch. It’s rare to find a property where every single department delivers at this level. Unbeatable location, vibrant atmosphere, and world-class staff. We can’t wait to come back!

Can’t wait to go back!!!

What an amazing experience!! The staff were all so kind and helpful and the rooms are gorgeous and tidy! The drink menu was fantastic with a wide range of liquors which I appreciated and the barista meant business in the morning!! He was awesome and made me an amazing off menu banana chai since they were out of matcha! 🤤 This hotel was so photogenic and was such a vibe, even after not having time to make it to the pool bar on the top floor! I seriously can’t wait for our next staycation because we will definitely be picking Virginia Hotels again❤️ It truly was such a great time, I can’t recommend it enough!

GREAT STAY except for the non application of hotel credits!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

GREAT HOTEL, great interior, amazing decoration, awesome staff, great location. I’d stay there again but I hope next time the credits that was supposed to be applied via my American Express Platinum and the $15 mini bar credit for not utilizing housekeeping would be honored and applied, without the guest having to call back and question what was agreed upon we’re not followed through. My $100 credit was never applied so I’m unhappy about that.
