Nice location in the center

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Some pros: 1. Nice location, easy walk to times square, Rockefeller center, one vanderbilt 2. Breakfast was good and many choices 3. Spacious and clean rooms Cons: 1. Room not ready until 6 p.m. Experience not worth the hotel rate 2.Bar area is the only dining area and with kids it was like having breakfast in nightclub with no natural light 3. Lot of wait times for elevator Overall not worth the price. I am not sure if hotel standards have declined in general but I was expecting a better experience for the Money

Staffs are nice and location was good

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Room and amenities were as expected considering its price point. Staffs were nice in a NY way- I’m a NYker myself. The location is very convenient if you need to visit Time Square or even Gramercy area. The complimentary items in fridge and snacks were a bit disappointing though. Breakfast is decent.

Great location!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Family friendly hotel, location is phenomenal. Sitting in what it felt a quiet pocket of the hustle and bustle of the city. Best and most convenient location to walk almost every spot on our to-see list. Hotel staff was always friendly and helpful, rooms were great.

Excellence in Midtown

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We were only able to stay at the Andaz 5th Avenue for one night, but it was a wonderful stay. We upgraded to a King Deluxe, which turned out to be the largest hotel room I’ve ever stayed at in NYC. High ceilings, huge windows looking out at the NY Public Library, gigantic bathroom and large shower, lovely bed, and superior lighting. Bedside controls for lights, window shade, and climate control. Worked perfectly. The staff were uniformly helpful, friendly, and charming. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant. The location cannot be beat for Midtown; easy access to Grand Central or Times Square subways, Metro North, and Amtrak. Easy walk to Broadway. This is my new favorite hotel in New York. Would definitely recommend.

Hyatt—Please rescue your once awesome now sad property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Serious decline since 2010 opening. No better than a half the price Hyatt Centric now. Especially sad to see is the absolute travesty the management has allowed the original high style spaces to become shabby or even just closed off altogether. Hyatt Corporate needs to step in and fix this place. The potential is still there.
