Within the majestic walls of one of New York's most exceptional landmarks, a new paradigm for Lower Manhattan is emerging. An architectural gem, hailed for its iconic nine-story atrium and pyramidal skylight, The Beekman unites some of the world's greatest talent, including the sophisticated design of Martin Brudnizki and the culinary cachet of restauranteurs Tom Colicchio and Keith McNally. Located in the epicenter of Lower Manhattan's thriving New Downtown, and nestled between both the East and Hudson Rivers, The Beekman is surrounded by some of Manhattan's most cherished attractions, including the Brooklyn Bridge and One World Trade. The Beekman is a masterpiece rediscovered.

I would not recommend this hotel. Let me start by sharing the horrible experience I had while trying to celebrate my birthday over the weekend. I booked through American Express The Hotel Collection, which includes a room upgrade upon arrival. At check‑in, the front desk representative confirmed this benefit — but what I received felt more like a downgrade. The room they assigned me on the 3rd floor was directly above a club. By 10 PM I was trying to sleep, and by 2 AM I still couldn’t because the music was blasting so loudly that the walls were vibrating and people were screaming underneath us. I called the front desk to express my concern and dissatisfaction. Only then, at 2 AM, was I moved to another room — forcing my wife and me to pack up all our belongings in the middle of the night just to be able to sleep. This is unacceptable and extremely disappointing for any guest, let alone someone booking through Amex and staying at a Hyatt property. To make matters worse, when I checked out, the front desk agent didn’t even bother to ask how my stay was. No acknowledgment, no apology, nothing. He simply processed the checkout silently and then shouted “Thank you for staying with us” across the lobby as I walked away. The lack of professionalism was astonishing, especially considering the experience we had just gone through. Overall, I’m deeply disappointed — both as a Hyatt member and as someone who booked through American Express The Hotel Collection expecting a higher standard of service.

The Beekman is a one of a kind eclectic hotel! The Hotel is easily one of my favorite places to stay in NYC. From the moment you walk in, the vibe just hits different. The architecture alone is stunning that iconic atrium with the layered balconies feels like stepping into another era, but somehow it still feels modern, alive, and full of energy. What I love most is how eclectic and cool everything is. It’s not cookie-cutter luxury, it has personality. The design, the lighting, the music, the people… it all comes together in a way that feels effortless but clearly isn’t. The rooms are beautifully done, classic, warm, and comfortable without trying too hard. And the service is always on point. The team genuinely cares, and you feel that. The bar and restaurant scene there is a whole experience on its own, whether you’re grabbing a drink or sitting down for a full night, it always delivers. Bottom line: if you want a hotel in NYC that actually has soul, style, and a real point of view, The Beekman is it. I’ll keep coming back every time.

This is a historic and cool property in a great location. The staff was very friendly. The hotel and our room was very clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable. Restaurant and bar seemed quite nice as well. We will be back!

We have very high expectations of this hotel, based on our numerous wonderful stays. Those expectations continue to be met, visit after visit. Everything here remains as advertised: The location (subways to the west of us, north of us, ferry not far), the structure, the attentive staff, the excellent cuisine, the wonderful rooms.

We did not sleep for our entire stay. The room was vibrating with noise and music until 4:00 am. We repeatedly requested a quiet room, but the hotel did not accommodate our request.

We has a most enjoyable stay at this elegant but fun hotel. Our room was comfortable, the included breakfasts were excellent and the $100 room credit went towards a good meal one evening in the Temple and Court Bar. The staff generally were polite, helpful, friendly and very professional. It all added up to a very good short vacation.
