Reviews for The Dominick Hotel

Fantastic staff, great hotel

The staff at the Dominick are the best, they truly put in the extra effort to show that they care about the comfort of their guests. I have stayed at many hotels in the city, and this is our favorite.

Pros and cons…

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I will be staying here again! The staff is very professional and kind. The area this hotel is located is quiet and safe. The view from my room was amazing! I suggest getting room service, the food was great! There are a few cons- The floors were dirty, I suggest wearing shoes in the room. The light switches are weird, I’d press and hold it, and the light wouldn’t go off. The plugs in the lamps do not work, so prepare to charge your phone before bed. There are buttons to open the curtains, they do not work either. There is no room in the mini fridge to put food, it’s stocked full with drinks that you can buy. There is not a door on the bathroom that is in the bedroom, so it makes it hard when traveling with someone else. Overall, I will be back. I do suggest staying here if you’re looking for a nice hotel in a good area.

Very nice but needs work

Very nice trip. However, I left my shoes in the hall, room 1704, next morning no shoes !! This made me very late for an important meeting. You should post the prices of your Mini Bar.

What a difference a year makes [spoiler alert - not a good difference]

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed at the Dominic last year and loved it. Great facility, really nice people, great food and service. This year - not so much. Any time we approached the front desk there were long lines (check in, check out, ask a question). And every time there was one person (Shon) who was working his a** off while the rest of the people (for the most part) stood around and glared menacingly at the guests. The staff in the restaurant for breakfast was great and super friendly. The food was only a 7 out of 10 and super expensive. Yesterday when I checked out, the oh-so-unfriendly desk clerk did her best to move me along so she could mistreat the next guest and in so doing, made a mistake in the invoice for one of our rooms. So I called back today and somehow was directed to the Accounts Receivable group which, no surprise, did not return my call. But I just hung up with the front desk manager - Brian - who I am confident fixed the problem. The hotel is already looking a little tired - scuffed paint, stained carpets and walls. It also needs more Brians and Shons (and the servers in the restaurant) and fewer people with attitudes. All in all, the hotel needs more - or better- people, period.
