A sleek retreat from the urban metropolis of the world's most recognized city, Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC offers swanky downtown chic with a hint of uptown luxury. The soaring ultramodern façade, lavish amenities, and tony vibe of Manhattan's premier hotel transforms the boisterous Meatpacking District into the most sought after hot spot in the Big Apple. Inspired by the hip, cool feel of the 1960's and 70's, a bold, bright color palate of fuchsia, magenta, plum, and champagne creates a classically mod ambiance throughout the property. Lavish details like a heated rooftop pool with underwater sound-system and resplendent 5,000 square foot spa with exclusive hair studio provides contemporary comforts and a chance to be pampered like never before.

Nice hotel with really excellent location. Very expensive hotel so one would expect at least a coffee machine and courtesy water in the rooms. None of that. The neighborhood is great for foodies and upscale shoppers but no convenience stores really close by. In many respects I honestly expected more and better. The noise level at the hotel is high. Heater, toilet flush, honking of cars in the street etc u are surrounded by noise even in higher floors.Room decor is ok but could be updated. In spite of what they advertise the pool is out of service, major disappointment because we really picked the hotel to enjoy the rooftop. Room service is great though and the food really yummy

Had an absolute incredible experience here! The staff was friendly and very on top of it, even offering umbrella service and always opening the door as we enter and exit. The location is perfect and we enjoyed both the lobby lounge and also the rooftop bar and scenic views. 10/10. Also, the room was spacious, soft sheets, and nice bathroom. The gym is modern and fancy sauna.

Front Desk team of GRACE and Erika were the DREAM TEAM! FUNNY, helpful, professional and kind. Ross, all around everywhere guy..bellman, doorman and smile maker made every come/go happy. Rooms were clean and nice. Room service didn't start until 7AM which is TOUGH for morning coffee needs. Location great. We had a few issues but the above mentioned DREAM TEAM did everything in their control to make us HAPPY! THANK YOU and we will visit again!

Having considered similarly priced hotels in the Theatre district, we were so pleased to have chosen the Gansevoort, not just for the less crowded environment in which it is located but also for the generally open and friendly atmosphere and the staff who took the trouble to remember our names and were ever helpful. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. Perhaps the feature that took some getting used to were the sliding doors, not only to the wardrobe but also to the bathroom. We soon got used to it but forgot to explain to guests who visited us. On the top floor ( with an outdoor pool) is a great bar which clearly attracts a lot of people after work. We had a very pleasant supper there, entertained by an extensive firework display in Jersey City. Otherwise we took breakfast out of the hotel (as I need gluten free food). There are many bars and restaurants within a short walk. If we were to be back in NYC we would definitely stay here again.

I understand the Gansevoort has been around for a while and is hardly a new kid on the block. The rooms feel dated, and the staff come across as aloof and extremely unhelpful. However, the gym, sauna, and location are the hotel’s only redeeming qualities. I’ve stayed here before, but it had been a while, and this visit left me very disappointed by the lack of professionalism from the staff.
