A Lower Manhattan original, Gild Hall is a place of character and comfort that runs deep, just off the bustle of Wall Street, One World Trade and the Seaport District. Our boutique hotel endures as a neighborhood cornerstone and showcase for the design aesthetic of Jim Walrod and the photography of Slim Aarons, two American originals themselves. Relax in our library lounge and enjoy rustic Tuscan fare at Felice Ristorante, a cozy local haunt. Explore the cobblestone-lined downtown streets, then indulge in the bespoke comfort of our guest rooms where rich wood, leather furnishings and brass accents anchor the soothing, neutral palette. Jim Walrod-designed tufted leather headboards, custom SFERRA linens and locally crafted bath amenities add a level of understated, appreciated luxury. At Gild Hall, luxury and hospitality welcome you on an intimate, honest scale.

Gild Hall is a solid hotel. The staff is accommodating, the rooms are clean and its close to everything. The design is dark wood and leather. Lobby is small but there is a restaurant if you want to a space to meet outside of your room. We were offered Prosecco at check in and coffee in the morning. Room is quite comfortable. Really good mattress and sheets but the pillows are terrible. They were so flat that I had to layer them on top of each other to hold up my head. Shower has good water pressure and the Molton Brown products are a plus. Even though the room faced the street, it was quiet. This is not a party hotel. If you want a nice hotel with a good nights sleep, definitely stay here. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and helpful as well.

The absolute friendliest staff in a very beautiful hotel! A very comfortable room, we both slept so well! We look forward to our next stay!

I don’t write many reviews, but when a place gets it right—not just on the surface, but in the feeling it leaves you with—it’s worth saying something. Gild Hall was that kind of stay. From the moment I walked in, there was a quiet confidence about the place. It doesn’t scream luxury—it knows what it is: understated, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. The kind of hotel that makes you exhale after a long day in the city. The staff were kind, attentive without hovering, and always seemed one step ahead without making a show of it. That matters to me. The room? Clean lines, rich textures, and no unnecessary fluff. Just quality where it counts—great bed, solid water pressure, and lighting that didn’t make me feel like I was in a spotlight or a cave. A rare balance. Location-wise, Gild Hall puts you within arm’s reach of downtown’s heartbeat, but just enough tucked away to get a full night’s rest. It’s easy to get where you’re going—and even easier to want to stay in. Whether you’re in town to recharge, do meaningful work, or just want to be reminded that hospitality can still feel human—this is a place I’d gladly return to.

Excellent experience. Comfortable beds and pillows. Room was clean and had everything we needed, including a steamer!

Nice place but the “ destination fee” of $35 a night is a total scam. Total ripoff. I don’t think I’d stay there just because of this fee.
