My husband and I stayed at The Gotham Hotel from July 10-13 for a quick NYC trip, and it was a 5/5 experience all around. We booked the Midtown King Balcony Suite, and it did not disappoint. The private balcony in our room was such a treat, and the bathroom had a nice waterfall faucet. The king bed was comfortable, and having a fridge and mini-bar in the room was so convenient. We even received a $30 mini-bar credit, which was a nice touch. In addition to our own private balcony, the hotel also offers public balconies on floors 19-23 with stunning views. We could see Times Square in the distance from the 46th Street side, which made for a great way to take in the city. I also noticed the public balconies had designated smoking areas with ashtrays available, a nice touch for guests who smoke. We had brunch on Sunday at The Reading Room, the hotel's restaurant, and it was excellent. What really made this stay memorable was the staff. Noel and D'Angelo, the doormen, were fantastic. Personable, friendly, helpful, and down to earth. Every single staff member we encountered matched that same energy. A special shoutout to Ilda at the front desk. She and her colleagues were wonderful, but Ilda in particular went above and beyond. We had a great conversation during my day out on Sunday, and her customer service was exquisite. She later followed up by email offering an additional discount and even offered to help me plan and book a return visit, remembering our conversation from that day. That kind of personal touch is rare and truly appreciated. We were also given the option of a cash reward or credit toward our next stay, which was a nice bonus. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend The Gotham Hotel to anyone visiting NYC.

This is a good hotel. Clean , large rooms. Close to subway stops. The staff is wonderful. Our balcony had the quintessential New York view…. Of an air shaft 😄😄

We are guests in this hotel, and arrived back to the room tonight to find an alarm beeping in one of the employee supply closets in the hallway. We used the texting service to make the front desk aware, and got “ok” in response. Over an hour later, we reached out again and got no response. Another hour later, and past midnight, we called the front desk. A male answered the phone with a surly attitude; we told him there has been an alarm going off outside of our room for hours. He said,” I know about the alarm. Do you want some earbuds?” We then started to tell him that his attitude and tone were inappropriate WHEN HE HUNG UP ON US.

Great check in process by Mr.Brandon. I took the metro king bed. It has a great view and brief balcony. The room is very spacious and renovated, including the bathroom. I also liked the hotel location as it’s very convenient. One big thing I want to emphasize, I found an EXCEPTIONAL service by the DOORMEN, especially Mr.Olsi. They are very helpful and kind, also they make sure to open the door every minute with all people. They meet everyone with a smile! Mr.Osli helped me throughout the checkout until he booked me a Cadillac SUV taxi with an excellent price! I will definitely come again to this friendly and comfortable hotel

After calling NYC home for almost a decade, my husband and I relocated out of state but continued spending a lot of time in the city, returning frequently for work trips, weddings, social events, and to plan our NYC wedding. Once I discovered The Gotham, it quickly became our home base - and it genuinely has become a home away from home for us. The front desk team and bell staff are kind and welcoming. They would always excitedly send us off to events, offer to take photos when we were dressed up for the evening, and warmly welcome us back at the end of the night. Nothing feels overly formal or transactional, which makes you feel at ease before stepping out into the bustle of the city. The management team has been especially wonderful over the years, always incredibly responsive, accommodating, and thoughtful. The rooms are MASSIVE by Manhattan standards and consistently incredibly clean… honestly more impressive than many higher-end boutique hotels we’ve stayed at in the city. The location is also ideal if you have a lot to cover around Manhattan. The attached restaurant/bar is another huge plus. The breakfast room service is excellent (I still think about the avocado toast), and the bar is such a great spot for cocktails or a relaxed dinner before heading out for the evening. What I love most about The Gotham is that it’s not a flashy five-star hotel...and I mean that as a compliment. You’re not paying inflated prices for endless bells and whistles or amenities you may never use. Instead, you’re getting exceptional value for Manhattan: oversized rooms, a fantastic location, a comfortable and clean atmosphere, and a genuinely accommodating team. As former New Yorkers, we also appreciate that the staff is warm and helpful whenever needed while still allowing guests a sense of autonomy and ease throughout their stay. It’s comfortable, clean, quiet (a rarity in Midtown Manhattan!), unpretentious, accommodating, and has exactly what we need whether we're in town for business or pleasure. There’s something refreshing about a hotel that simply does the important things really, really well. We’re excited to return again this summer for another special trip to NYC. We’ll always have a soft spot for The Gotham and its team.
