I am currently mid-stay and having a less than satisfactory stay and I've got another 3-nights to endure. Having been through a booking process which demonstrated IHG doesn't care about it's customers - I am a Diamond Elite Ambassador member with 20-years loyalty - only to be saved by Gretchen of the hotel team - I am sat on my suitcase trying to work as the room I am in is so small, there is no room for a chair (and no chairs available) so my preparation for my meetings tomorrow is difficult and uncomfortable and the view from the window is uninspiring - a solid brick wall! I did ask for a chair but none are available although I was offered a room move if one came available. There is no restaurant or bar service at the hotel and the grab and go 'breakfast' is withdrawn at 7.30am, but to be honest it's not worth getting up early for the mediocre selection of poor quality breakfast snacks. The stay will cost me nearly $5,000 for the two rooms I booked (one for a colleague) and I would urge anyone considering a stay here to find another (non-IHG hotel) and if you're an IHG member, look for another brand and built up your status with them as IHG treats its so-called loyal members with total and utter contempt. It would appear that IHG have blocked me from leaving any reviews on the IHG website. My company's NY office is less than 5-minutes walk away and I need to be in NYC 1-week every month, but as IHG treats it's customers with such utter contempt I would urge anyone considering this hotel or any IHG hotel to keep searching.

Had a fantastic time at this lovely hotel in Murray Hill. Our room overlooked Park Avenue and the Church of Our Savior. The rooms are nicely appointed, with a take on mid-century modern style, and make the most use of space and even though the bathroom is small there is everything you need. Lobby is spacious, colorful, and has great collection of coffee table books from Assouline on various world destinations. We originally booked a room with two beds, but as they were sold out they gave us two rooms next to each other which worked out well. Staff was very friendly and Anthony at the front desk allowed us to have a later check out. Only suggestion I have is for a dedicated staff to clean up after wine hour- when I came back after dinner there were lots of empty beer bottles and wine glasses left in the lobby by guests and it would have taken very little time for a staff member to remove them. Either that or they should discontinue to offer it as not all guests are mindful.

My stay at the Kimpton Ashbel was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel, I felt so welcomed. The staff was great and always ready to help with a smile on their face. My room was extremely clean, the mattress was so comfortable, and the interior decor was beautiful. You could see just how much detail went into this hotel. The location is unbeatable, with the Empire State Building right nearby, restaurants all around, and a train station just a few short blocks away. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.

Nice new hotel in midtown. Very clean, friendly staff and rooms are well designed. I visited during the soft opening phase. Rooms are very small, in line with a small boutique hotel.

This hotel could be good. The location is great. The staff is very hospitable. The space is small but sweet. But Kimpton totally dropped the ball on the details that make a hotel a good place to stay. Our bathroom window is so drafty it feels like it is wide open. There was no hot water in our shower the first day (they fixed this). There are no mugs in our room, just plastic wrapped to go cups. There is no creamer, sugar, etc for the in-room nesspresso. There is only one hook in the bathroom. There is someone stationed by a pile of plastic wrapped pastries in the lobby but no coffee for the breakfast service. And they have a lovely sitting room that is visible but roped off and unavailable to guests. A little bit of thought would have gone a long way here..
