InterContinental New York Barclay

I became an IHG member last year, and since reaching Diamond status, I’ve had the opportunity to stay at many IHG hotels around the world. Out of all my experiences, I can confidently say that the most welcoming and exceptional staff member I have ever encountered is at this hotel — Sanela Skrijelj. Sanela is truly wonderful — warm, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. Her bright smile and caring attitude made a lasting impression and even helped melt away the exhaustion from traveling. Thanks to her, New York has become an even more beautiful and memorable city for me. During this stay, I brought my mother, who was visiting New York for the first time. I am deeply grateful for the special care and attention Sanela gave us throughout our visit. The room itself was outstanding — elegant, modern, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The hotel’s location in Midtown is perfect for exploring the city, making it an ideal choice for travelers. Thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable stay — and a special thank you to Sanela for making it truly extraordinary.

Pricy but worth it if you have only a few nights to stay in mid-town Manhattan. Easy walk to most mid-town locations and events and very close to Grand Central Station if you're coming in by train, as we usually do. The staff is business-like and efficient. 48th street is a good main entrance, not busy at all so it's easy to get in and out of a taxi or Uber. My room on the 7th floor was large by Manhattan standards. Best thing was a ventilation system that allowed the fan to stay on even when the thermostat was not calling for heat or cool. Gripes? Well, there was a crust of pizza on the floor near the TV when I checked into the room and it was still there when I checked out four days later. It might still be there. Also, like all 21st Century hotels, the bill is larded with fees - my favorite a daily $45 add-on for "Accommodation" which is what I thought the nightly rate for the room was covering.

My first time staying at the intercontinental Had a wonderful stay. .The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet with updated tasteful decor. . Great location in midtown Manhattan. Close to many sights. Would definitely stay again next time I visit NYC.

Location cannot be beat! Comfortable beds and high ceiling rooms with space to move around. Very nice bathrooms with nice amenities. The decor is soothing and up to date with a nod to the hotel's history. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were lovely (shout out to Jose behind the bar!). I look forward to returning~
