Reviews for InterContinental New York Times Square

Not a 5 star hotel based on experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

Rooms need updating and furniture changed as room far too cramped despite booking a corner room. High daily facilities charge paid locally on top of accommodation costs add no value unless you are using gym. Stayed 6 nights and only had water in room on last night. Had to request bath robes and would have expected water and robes to be in the room for a five star hotel. Food trays left outside of other rooms in the hall way for over 24hrs without being collected. Bed very comfortable and bar very good are plus points.

No Longer a Good Choice

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Rooms are not in good shape. Furniture and closet doors chipped, mattresses have serious dents and divots -- my colleague said that her bed was like sleeping in a canoe that she had to climb out of. When I went behind the TV to plug in my device, I was met with 3/4 inch of dust and dirt covering everything as if it had never been cleaned. I stayed in this property several times a few years go and it was very nice. Obviously standards have slipped.

Our night on the town

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Our new favorite server at our long-standing favorite Manhattan hotel, the Intercontinental Times Square is Nial, who saw to our every need at supper last night in the Stinger (the hotel’s restaurant). He was witty, He was attentive (just the right amount of attention), he was helpful, he was practically perfect in every way. What a fun evening!

Worth it even in December!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The hotel is wonderfully located right off of Times Square and convenient to access other areas. The hotel is modern, incredible condition, and clean, clean clean. Our rooms were on the front and back fourth floor of the hotel and we had no issues with Noyes and sleeping. Don’t be afraid to stay on a low floor. We enjoyed breakfast each morning with the most amazing staff, especially our waiter Leo agreed to us each morning and took such good care of us. The food was way above hotel quality and delicious. The front desk check-in was so easy and they were able to meet our request needed for our stay specifically. I absolutely would stay here again and although pricing in December is crazy, the value and safety we felt was worth it!

NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

This is not a five star property. Having stayed at other five star hotels in this city (and others), this hotel cannot even compare. From the unprofessional staff, to the complete lack of cleanliness, this entire experience was nothing you’d expect from a five star hotel. Most four star hotels provide more amenities than this hotel did. The small lobby is continually packed with business people there for meetings. The little restaurant and bar provided terrible service. The run down hallways and rooms looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in years. The maids couldn’t even fold the towels that they brought into our room, and left dirty dishes sit outside our room for days until we asked for them to be removed. The concierge left and forgot they were even helping us find transportation. The list goes on and on. What a disappointment this experience was for the price. We could have stayed at a four star property for a cheaper price, quieter location, and an overall better experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the InterContinental Times Square. The location was perfect, just close enough to the action but still quiet ”enough".

The staff were all very friendly and incredibly helpful. We will be back.
