The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue

There are not enough adjectives to describe a place where they call you by your name (even the following day and on), they do not let you do anythng for yourself, opening doors, hitting your floor button, etc. eveyone has a smile just like you are at Disney. The food incredible, the room perfectly appointed and lavish! THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Amazing is an understatement. Large rooms especially by NYC standards. But staff makes it all over the top. At the desk and door, Shaun, Ngawang, Jack and Abu were always ready to help. Jamal leads an amazing team. In the club lounge Anna-Kaye, Justin, Milton Anders and more are each so warm and helpful. HSK Tsechu and the whole team are wonderful. Unbeatable location, and perfect with kids. Can’t wait to be back!

From arrival to departure, the service at The Langham New York was the best I have experienced anywhere in the city. We’ve stayed at nearly every “great” hotel in New York, and this was our second time here. Their reputation for outstanding customer service is well-earned.. it truly doesn’t get better. We booked through Amex Platinum and received excellent perks, including upgrades for both of our rooms. The Executive Level Club rooms on the higher floors are worth every penny if you can swing it. They include access to the Executive Club, which offers breakfast, snacks, drinks, and a comfortable space to relax throughout the day such a great perk that elevates the entire stay. I’ve traveled the world and never felt compelled to write a hotel review until now. The Langham New York absolutely deserves it.

I stayed at The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue in January and sustained an injury in my room when a chair tipped as I was getting up. It left me with multiple cuts on my ankle, and what I initially thought would fade has since become a permanent scar. Due to the timing, I wasn’t able to report it at the moment it happened. I followed up shortly after, once I realised the injury wasn’t healing properly. Despite that, the hotel’s insurer has denied any responsibility, citing an internal inspection (that I have no way of verifying) and the fact that I didn’t report it right away or seek medical attention abroad. They also stated that no other guest has reported this kind of incident before, as if that somehow invalidates what happened to me. This felt deeply dismissive. For a hotel that markets itself as five-star, it was incredibly disappointing to deal with a process that seemed focused entirely on protecting itself, not doing the right thing. A lasting injury was sustained during my stay and the way it has been handled, with avoidance, legal loopholes, and refusal to take genuine accountability, is not what I expect from a brand that claims to offer luxury service. If you do choose to stay here, document absolutely everything because if something goes wrong, you're likely to find yourself unsupported.
