Loews Regency Hotel New York

A home away from home. Very warm and welcoming guest relations (Kennedy). A welcoming staff (Abdul at front desk is great). And a wonderful concierge, very eager to assist (Thank you Lubna). Also a wonderful location, a few steps from the hectic pace of mid-town, but in a quieter upscale residential section, and a three minute walk to Bloomingdales to the east, and Central Park to the west.

Very comfortable, large room, with beautiful bathroom and amazing service. I was there for a special birthday and the manager sent up a special gift which was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. We had a special package that included parking so all in all it was reasonable by New York standards. We could not have been happier.

Do not stay here. Huge mistake. A member of the team walked into my room while I was sleeping without knocking first or identifying themselves. I felt very unsafe. The three men working downstairs - two front desk and one concierge - were so defensive and dismissive. The manager - a female - seemed like she was concerned but told me twice that she would follow up, but never did. I used 68,000 Amex points for this visit. The hotel also erroneously charge me $535, which they said they would reverse. I am still waiting. I suppose I have to resolve through Amex, because these people seem to just keep you waiting and hope you will check out before they resolve the issues.

This is an outstanding hotel. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. The Regency Grill is refined, private, with great food and service. It is one of my favorite restaurants. There is a large, new fitness space that has lots of equipment. The rooms are very attractive and comfortable. The staff goes the extra mile. The location on the upper east side can’t be beat. I always love staying here,

A wonderful hotel and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. A great dog-friendly hotel. Very highly recommend.
