Other New York City luxury hotels may talk about service, but at Loews Regency New York Hotel, we’ve been living it for over 50 years. You’ll experience our special brand of relaxed sophistication when our bellman greets you with a friendly smile and our concierge calls you by name. Loews Regency New York Hotel's concierge can assist with things like theater tickets, checking exhibits at the local museum, or getting you a table at the hot new restaurant the locals can’t stop talking about.

Such great service at this hotel in a great section of east side NY. Close to fun restaurants, bars and Bloomingdale’s. Used Curb to get around with taxis without surge pricing. Nice amenities and a really big gym.

I was worried after checking in - they gave me a 3rd floor room and I thought it'd be loud. But it was quiet because of the location and faced an inner courtyard that was ugly but nice enough for me. They also didn't have bottled water in the room the first night, only gave second night. Wish they had that early on day 1 because water from the sink tasted terrible. Coffee or espresso machines were not standard with the room but I requested and they kindly gave for free. I suggest asking for Nespresso pods because the taste is better than their coffee machines where they use generic (and bad tasting pods). Staff friendly and helpful when asking for directions, extra decaf pods and and an umbrella. I liked the location as easy to walked to 5th and the shopping but in a quieter part of the city. I like the food in the restaurant. I had dinner here once and it was excellent and a nice environment for friendly, casual business meetings. This is not ultra luxurious but pretty nice. I'd stay here again if the price is right but it's not so nice that I'd have to stay again. They give bar soap which is nice but I don't like the curtains in the shower as water got everywhere.

I would like to leave this review so that other guests understand what they may encounter at this hotel. Let’s start with the simplest thing — the front desk. It would be difficult to find less welcoming staff. No polite smile, no “have a nice day.” However, the employees have plenty of time to chat with one another, laugh loudly, and thoroughly enjoy themselves. Now let’s move on to the most interesting part — the room. I chose this hotel chain because of its reputation and its location right in the heart of the city, next to Central Park. Naturally, I expected a clean and well-maintained room. Instead, I was given an incredibly dirty and dusty one. There was so much dust that you could literally feel it in the air. When I asked to speak with the housekeeping manager, I was assured that this was merely a misunderstanding and that the issue would be resolved immediately. Unfortunately, those promises turned out to be nothing more than empty words. By the time I returned, only the areas I had pointed out had been cleaned. Later, the hotel manager called me and offered a sincere apology, but that did nothing to solve the problem. The room remained dirty. The following day, after returning from an event, I found another surprise waiting for me. Dirty towels and a bag of trash had been left in the middle of the room. Apparently, the housekeeping staff decided to leave me a rather unusual gift from the hotel. The next day, I once again requested that the room be cleaned and pointed out the places where thick clumps of dust were literally hanging in plain sight. The result was exactly the same. The staff cleaned only the areas I specifically pointed out. And let me remind you that we are talking about a five-star hotel in the very center of New York City. The general manager attempted to smooth things over, but repeated apologies could not replace something as basic as proper housekeeping. The issue remained unresolved, and my entire stay was ruined. I would also like to mention the restaurant. The attitude of the waitstaff toward guests can be described in one word: dismissive. While guests are trying to get someone’s attention, the staff members are busy talking and laughing among themselves. In order to place an order, you either have to wave your hands at them or walk over to them yourself. If you value yourself and your money, I strongly advise you not to stay at this hotel. It falls far short of both the standards it claims to uphold and the price it charges. Fortunately, there are many nearby hotels that offer far better service and much cleaner rooms.
