Loews Hotel Shocking Experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

It really in ways surprises me I need to leave a review. I’ve been a long standing Loews member and fan of their properties around the world for a very long time. The Loews staff in NYC in phenomenal, highly accommodating and beautiful lobby. The rooms however were outdated , the bathroom was incredibly small and the cleaning staff is very disruptive. Every morning before 7am they would knock on the door asking for house keeping , no consideration if someone was sleeping and because the hotel does not offer do not disturb signs it causes constant disruption every hour starting at 7am. I picked this hotel because I figured it would be quiet and relaxing , an experience I typically get at luxury hotels. I regret not staying somewhere else as it was my birthday trip and honestly ruined the rest and relaxation I hoped to experience. The outdated room was not ideal but manageable. This has certainly caused me to wonder if the Loews brand of hotels is no longer what it once was.

Best hotel

This is the best hotel and an excellent value. It’s in the prime upper east side location with beautiful rooms, restaurant, gym, and staff. It’s quiet and very well maintained. We always look forward to staying there.

Need a 6 star option!

Spent one week in an Executive Suite, the best city hotel stay I have ever had, anywhere, in any city. Checked in 2 days prior online. Day of arrival, my husband, who travels constantly, went to drop my bags off at hotel early for me on his way to the airport. Asked him how check in went for this review. “Got there around 10, gave your name, they said the room was ready now if I wanted to bring you bags up and they gave me a key.” “Whole thing took about 1 minute and 34 seconds”. Room was great, vintage NY elegant, updated in all the best ways. Especially loved the bedroom. The bed is insane! Told the housekeeper how great I slept, she said guest say that a lot. She helped me find the mattress label - Stearns and Foster, wasn’t surprised. Had to sleep with my head slightly elevated, no problem. Was like sleeping in a nest. The location is the best in NYC. If you’re coming for a vacation to see it all, this is where you want to be. 2 blocks from park entrance, if it’s crowded head north or west. 2 museums there, and the walks to them through the park cannot be rushed, the park is simply great. Everything else you’d want to see is walkable as well, just go south. 5th Ave, Times Square, Empire State, WTC…. You can wake up everyday with no plans and just go outside and start walking. Also easy subway stops and tons of Ubers. Great for groups that operate and different paces. I have noticed over the past few years the availability and quality of room service has been declining rapidly across the board in most hotels. Guess it’s not a good profit margin across the board. But not here! I love room service and specifically look for it when I’m booking. Every call was answered right away and it came fast. Food was great, crab cakes and cappuccino exceptional. The gentleman who delivered was my favorite part. Impeccably dressed and every glass and utensil on that table was sparkling! Tremendous amount of pride in his job, his hotel and genuine concern for the guests stay. Every single employee in this hotel had the exact same attitude. Housekeepers were amazing, kind efficient and any request was taken care of in minutes. On my way out I only spoke to the gentleman at the end of the desk and told him my stay was great, exceeded every expectation. Big smile and “thank you so much for letting us know that, it’s means a lot to us.” Then, my car was sitting right in front of the hotel. My husband had asked if he could leave it there while he ran up to get me. I apologized because it had taken a bit longer “No, problem at all. I had the keys and would have moved it if I needed to.” All of the staff at this hotel puts it on a completely different level from ANY other hotel. Nothing was a problem or an inconvenience. Staff this great only come from a very well run organization that places high values on their employees and their employees happiness as well their guests happiness. Win win for everyone. Cannot wait to go back. Keep it Loews!1
