There truly are not enough wonderful things we can say about The Lowell. We chose to stay here for our wedding, and looking back, we could not have imagined a more perfect place to be during such an important and memorable time in our lives. From the moment we arrived, everything about our experience was exceptional. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning — elegant, intimate, timeless, and quintessentially New York without ever feeling overly formal or impersonal. Every detail feels intentional, from the beautifully appointed rooms to the warm and sophisticated atmosphere throughout the property. What truly sets The Lowell apart, however, is the service. It was impeccable. Every member of the staff we encountered was gracious, attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. The level of care and attention to detail was unlike anything we have experienced at a hotel before. Somehow, they anticipate what you need before you even have to ask, while still making everything feel effortless and natural. Because we were staying at The Lowell for our wedding, this was much more than an ordinary hotel stay for us. It became part of one of the most meaningful weekends of our lives, and the team made us feel incredibly special from beginning to end. Having such a beautiful, peaceful place to return to amid all of the excitement of our wedding made the entire experience even more memorable. The rooms are luxurious and incredibly comfortable, the property is immaculate, the location is fantastic, and the hospitality is truly second to none. There is a warmth and intimacy to The Lowell that is difficult to find, particularly in New York City. It feels less like staying at a hotel and more like being welcomed into an exceptionally beautiful private residence where every detail has been thoughtfully considered. We have stayed at many wonderful hotels, but The Lowell is in a category of its own. It will forever hold such a special place in our hearts, not only because it was part of our wedding, but because of how wonderfully we were treated throughout our stay. If you are considering The Lowell for a wedding, special occasion, romantic trip, or simply an unforgettable stay in New York City, we cannot recommend it highly enough. Five stars does not feel like enough. We are already looking forward to having an excuse to return. Thank you to the entire Lowell team for helping make one of the most important weekends of our lives even more extraordinary. We will never forget it.

This is my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in and my favorite trip to New York. It was absolutely perfect. From the moment I got there I felt at home and it was immaculate with so many details. You don’t even realize you appreciate it but make us stay wonderful

We stayed at the Lowell for the umpteenth time (see my previous reviews from 2018, 2019, 2021) for three nights and circled back for a fourth later in the week. As always, the back of house staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Though our experience with front of house can be spotty, I would recommend the hotel for comfort, easy location, excellent housekeeping and incredible bell staff. The club room is comfortable and cozy - and the food is consistently excellent. Even though you can no longer belly up to the bar, there's always a cozy corner in the restaurant/bar if the staff know you are there as guests of the hotel). I find that the backbone of this "home away from home" is hard to match - if you are shopping for luxury hotels on the upper east side, there are several to choose from, but we consistently go back to this one.

We stayed at the Lowell Hotel a week ago as a nostalgic visit after not staying here for many years. Parts of the hotel are still great (the bar and living room areas) however our room (upper priced junior suite) was very dowdy/needs higher quality finishes for the price. Breakfast was also disappointing—very low quality sourdough (avo toast) and terrible espresso. The hotel is located in an area of Manhattan that has many very high quality bakeries and espresso available for purchase but why not just make your own sourdough at an establishment such as this? Breakfast was included but we just ate at a high quality local bakery our second morning. There are higher quality hotels with similar prices close by.
