The Muse New York

This hotel was perfect. The staff are welcoming; the rooms are modern and clean; the restaurant is convenient with good food; the location is great, close to Times Square and subway stops, while being on a quiet side street.

Room was ok, and location was ok, but customer service was absolutely terrible. I initially booked the room for 3 nights, using AA frequent flyer miles, selecting the highest-mileage option that included all taxes and fees. Upon check-in, we were told we would have to pay a $40 per night "Destination Fee." I protested, saying my reservation showed all taxes and fees were included, but they initially said not true, despite pricing breakdown that included the destination fee under “Taxes and fees.” Finally, they waived the fees, not because they had already been paid, but as some kind of big deal favor. "A concession." United was a day late getting us to New York, and we extended our stay one day, paying with an additional 44,000 miles. Upon checkout I spoke with the manager expressing my discontent with their treating this as a misunderstanding by me, and a huge concession by them. "We didn't charge you the destination fee. What more do you want?" "If you want to make it right, refund the 44,000 miles for the night we weren't here." "Ok, I'll do that. You shouldn't have to pay for United's screwup." Well, 2 months later, and no miles have been refunded. They will treat you like crap and then lie to you. So many better choices available in mid-town.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. 10/10. We have stayed in other boutique hotels in the same price point in Times Square and The Muse blew them away. For the location, you can’t get closer to Times Square, yet it is just far enough back that it was quiet enough at night, even on the third floor. The elevators were beside our room yet we didn’t hear any disturbances. The staff were all extremely friendly and check-in and out were very quick. We made a quick call for extra towels and they arrived soon after with no issues. The rooms were larger than what I have experienced in Times Square and very nicely decorated. Felt a bit fancy, like you were really on a nice NYC vacation. Even though other reviews stated the rooms were a good size I was skeptical, but I was pleasantly surprised and relieved when we saw the room. We fit four people in this room comfortably. No claustrophobia. The beds and pillows were fantastic. The AC wasn’t annoying and clunky. The room was perfectly clean. The bathroom was also a good size and clean. There is a closet but only one drawer I think, if that is important to you. If the price doesn’t increase significantly, I will 100% choose The Muse again for our next Times Square stay!

We had a wonderful stay at The Muse Hotel in New York City. Everything was excellent from start to finish! The location is fantastic, the hotel is beautiful and comfortable, and everything was very well organized. A special mention has to go to the staff — everyone was incredibly friendly, polite, helpful and always willing to assist with anything we needed. Their service really made our stay even better. The only minor negatives were that the cleanliness could have been a little better in some less visible or hidden areas of the room, and the soundproofing could also be slightly improved. However, these were relatively small issues and did not affect our overall experience. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely choose The Muse Hotel again. Highly recommended! !

I stayed at the Muse during my birthday weekend, I had such a great stay at this hotel! Everything was incredibly clean and well-maintained, and the service was amazing from when we checked in to when we checked out. The staff were so friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which really made the experience even better, special mention to Angel and Alyssa. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again!
