Reviews for The Muse New York

Not so amusing!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I’m honestly amused though not in a good way—by my stay at The Muse Hotel NYC. I paid $952 for two nights in a room specifically booked with a city view. I called twice before arriving to confirm we’d be on a high floor with a view, as this was a special spring break trip for my teenager and me after I recovered from illness. When we arrived, Daniel at the front desk was polite but dismissive. We were placed on the 10th floor in the back of the building. The “city view” was a brick wall and rooftops covered in equipment definitely not what was promised. Despite booking for two guests, we only had one robe. When I asked other guests, they said their room had two on arrival. When I requested a room change, I was flatly told no—no apology, no effort, not even the option to switch the next day. The final straw? I was charged an extra $91 in destination fees, despite being told at check-in that it was only a hold for incidentals. I contacted management and haven’t received a response. A truly disappointing experience for what was supposed to be a special trip. —E

Nasty front desk staff and tiny rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Some of the rudest staff I have come across. Just plain nasty. Dont be fooled by photographs, rooms are very tiny. Wouldnt stay here again, due to the unhelpful and smug attitude of front desk team, who wanted to be superior instead of helpful.

The Perfect Hotel and Perfect Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

If you're going to NYC, please consider The Muse. I just returned from a 4 night stay. The rooms were huge, staff was amazing...a special shout-out to Daniel & Carlos --and rooms were cleaned every day. The location was perfect, a half a block from Times Square and very quiet. I booked two executive queen rooms and will recommend The Muse to anyone going to NYC.

Ideally located with great staff

Just returned from a 7 day trip here. Ideally situated hotel, minutes from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. We had the most wonderful time for our son's 21st. We had a corner room, where you could sneak a peek at Times Square. Fridge was ideal for cheesecake leftovers 😋 The staff here are really helpful, reception and the door staff. This made our holiday. If I was in NY again I would choose here. For those travelling light( fromUK) they have all the toiletries you need. We weren't, but uts handy to know.

Great boutique hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Cute, quiet, boutique hotel located very close to Times Square. Located in the perfect location for getting to Central Park, Time Square and the subway. Rooms are large for NYC and the bathrooms are nice. Biggest con is there’s no checking in early. We were 15 mins early and they made us wait. Of course once 4pm rolled around, the line to check in was long and slow. Front desk staff is very nice but there seems to always be a line. Also, I called ahead and asked if there was any construction/renovation being done. The gentleman I spoke to said there wasn’t but when we arrived the bar was closed but due to open soon. I would stay here again based on the room size and location.
