Omni Berkshire Place Hotel

Stayed at Omni Berkshire Place recently. The location and overall service were very good, and the staff was friendly throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the soundproofing was a major issue. Early in the morning, we could hear loud water pipe or drainage noises continuously for about an hour. On top of that, the walls between rooms seem extremely thin. We could hear nearly everything happening in the neighboring room, including children waking up because of the noise. Eventually our own kids woke up too, and the entire situation turned chaotic. It honestly felt like every room on the floor could probably hear each other. This hotel has a lot going for it, especially the location, but it really needs serious investment in sound insulation and plumbing noise reduction. For the price point, the noise levels were disappointing.

Bathrobe in the room when we arrived was soiled: soiled with poop! This immediately concerned us about whether staff were actually replacing items between guests. Plus room had no heat first night (despite thermostat showing false info). We complained to front desk next morning, was told repairs would be made to heating system. Second night was marginally better but still too cold, system not working. Housekeeping inconsistent about supplying the proper number of towels/face cloths; there were only 2 of us in the room! Room temperature remained a problem for 5 nights. Repeat complaint to front desk resulted in us being moved to better room plus gave us a $100 voucher for breakfast, much appreciated. Room temperature was good. But shower the next morning was freezing, no hot water at all! Third complaint to front desk: we were told there was a problem with the "boiler" and that it was being fixed. But we should have been informed when the problem was known rather than subjecting us to ice cold shower. Finally the last night we were at Omni was appropriately heated. Thanks. But we were paying close to $500/night room+tax. We deserved much better. Front desk clerk was pleasant. But the hotel itself appeared to be in poor repair with inadequate communication among staff departments. Would not recommend Omni to friends who know we come to NYC every couple of years and do seek info from us when they make plans for NYC visit.

We love this hotel. It’s convenient, the beds and room are comfortable. Its spacious and clean with everything you need. They quickly assist you with additional requests. It’s not noisy even with it being so close to everything. The staff is wonderful and helpful. Love the doorman. You can tell he loves his job

Great location and very nice set up for families. The Doormen and Bellhops were all super and gave excellent service. We also appreciated the effort of manager Danielle to accomodate us when the hotel made an error with the room we booked. Only complaint I have is no drinking water in rooms or near ice machine. Otherwise, a very nice stay and very helpful, proessional staff.

I will absolutely be returning to this hotel. I came with my daughter and granddaughter and booked the American Girl Doll package. My granddaughter loved the special attention and the goodies from the hotel. The staff was fantastic and the hotel clean and in a great location.
