RENOVATION NOTICE: The Peninsula New York will be undergoing refurbishment starting January 2024, and scheduled to be completed by September 2024, with a reopening of the rooftop by Summer 2024.
Located on Fifth Avenue, in the heart of New York City's most prestigious shopping, cultural, and business neighborhood, The Peninsula New York resides in a stunningly restored 1905 landmark. Many of the original Beaux Arts architectural features have been retained, and the result is one of striking modern accents on old-world elegance. For the ultimate classical residence in New York City, the two-bedroom Peninsula Suite occupies most of the 19th floor and affords spectacular panoramic views of the city.

The Peninsula Hotel in NYC should be 6 stars. The service is hands down the BEST I've experienced at a 5 star hotel. The hotel lobby is absolutely gorgeous! The renovations are stunning, the room is spotless and spacious and very comfortable. The food, the gym, the spa all a 10! I have never felt so special and pampered and I am a legit hotel snob. That long review with one star and all the complaints can't be real. Best hotel in NYC and worth the money!

The Peninsula was the best experience I have ever had. The room was spacious and perfectly appointed and the location can’t be beat. But what made it so special was the unbelievable service. Stephanie Colovic and team my son’s first trip to NYC unforgettable. We will never stay anywhere else in New York.

The WiFi in this hotel SUCKS. If you’re coming on business and need dependable wifi. This is NOT the place to stay.

The hotel was well located - it was convenient to local sights, attractions, and shopping. There was some construction on the street when we were staying there. The rooms were spacious and clean, with large and comfortable beds. Our view wasn't great (the one window directly faced other rooms of hotel), but this was consistent with the category of room we had booked. The lobby was nicely decorated for Chinese New Year. Doormen at the front did not offer much attention to guests. We had a chance to visit the pool, which was uncrowded and had a pleasant view of 5th Avenue. There were some other things I would not have expected from even a mid-tier hotel (and certainly not one at this price range). It was very strange to see vacuum cleaners in the hallways throughout our stay. Service was also a bit slow - we requested a roll-away bed three times over two days before finally receiving one. On the day of our departure, we received a card under our door that seemed to accuse us of smoking in the room. The tone was threatening and unpleasant - management should revisit the phrasing on this card (which I was told was distributed to all the rooms on our floor). Overall, it was a pleasant stay but fell well short of expectations given the brand and the price. In the same general area, we much preferred our stay at the Langham.

We spent the weekend at The Peninsula celebrating my wife’s birthday, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was incredibly comfortable and impressively quiet — a true oasis from the chaos of the streets below. The bed and bedding combination was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced. It was actually the first time I’ve stayed somewhere and didn’t miss my own bed and pillows. What truly sets this property apart, though, is the staff. Every single interaction was warm, professional, and prompt. Sofia at the front desk went above and beyond — when I mentioned my travel beard trimmer had no batteries, she immediately had housekeeping send some up to our room. Every doorman greeted us by name without hesitation, and housekeeping worked with remarkable efficiency. We never once returned to a room that wasn’t refreshed or beautifully turned down. Two minor notes: there is no coffee maker in the room, so morning coffee requires ordering room service (there may be another option, but it wasn’t obvious). Also, there isn’t an ironing board in the room. That said, the team was extremely accommodating and had our clothes pressed and returned promptly — just something to note if you like handling quick touch-ups yourself before heading out. Overall, it was an outstanding, relaxing weekend, and we absolutely plan to return. We only wish we could have stayed longer
