Royalton Park Avenue

Our room was large with a kitchenette. We could get to everything really easily while having essentials close like the bank and CVS convenience store! The subway was close and because it was cold when we went to events, it was so cozy to come to a warm rooftop Bar to relax on the couches and have drinks. We will be back!

On the positive side, our Manhattan Suite was spacious and we got what felt like a good deal (for Manhattan during the holidays, anyway) on it from Priceline. But it did not feel like a 5-star hotel to us, mostly due to the (lack of) service. When we arrived by car, we were stuck waiting in the street in front of the Valet Parking sign because no one from the hotel came to greet us. I eventually had to leave the car and retrieve someone myself. Neither that employee nor anyone else offered to help us unload our bags or take them up to our room, and no one even opened the door for us. In fact, throughout our stay, no one greeted us when we entered or exit the hotel. It was as if we were staying at an apartment building with no doorman. The room itself was nice and big, but the shower kept leaking all over the bathroom floor when we used it, and we could not get the air-conditioning to heat the room above 68 degrees, even though we had it set to 72. Overall, it was not the best experience for us and we don't plan to stay here again.

We had an absolutely amazing time! From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, attentive, and truly committed to great service. I did have a unique request during my visit, and when I mentioned it to one of the team members, he recommended I speak with Alexis (female Alexis because apparently there’s more than one)—though he warned she wouldn’t be able to accommodate my request. Well, not only did Alexis take the time to hear me out, she completely eliminated the “problem” - because there was no problem for her as she solved it by the end of my sentence. What I thought would be an impossible request turned into a piece of cake thanks to her professionalism, kindness, and genuine desire to make our stay perfect. Alexis, you are an absolute gem. Thank you for going above and beyond—you completely elevated our experience and we’re so grateful. This hotel is lucky to have you, and we’ll definitely be returning! You are everything five star service should be.

I just checked in here this evening and what a regret. This place is a dump. Completely outdated, dingy feeling.. I live 20 minutes from here and definitely chose the wrong hotel to spend Thanksgiving at. There are no outlets next to the bed to charge your phone. This is the first time in 25 years that I’ve booked a hotel on platinum American Express that I’ve not been upgraded, there’s no way this hotel is fully occupied. do not stay here you will get a less than mediocre experience.

Excellent stay at Royalton Park Avenue! We had a wonderful time there! The staff were super nice and helpful, and the room was very spacious. Special shoutout to Dennis for being so courteous and helpful. Highly recommended!
