Great experience at the Royalton Park Avenue, check in was smooth and Paul made everything possible to welcome us. This is the 6th time we’re staying and will be back. Nice location and amenities. Great breakfast and pool. Thanks for everything.

Disappointed

Extremely disappointed with this hotel. My fiance and I booked two rooms here for our wedding. One was a suite that we had for four nights. The other was a room booked through Day-Use.com from 10am-2pm for my Groomsmen to get ready for the wedding. After the Groomsmen and I got ready in the room I went up to the roof to take pictures with my fiance while my Groomsmen stayed in the room. Well, they stayed about an hour beyond 2pm apparently, and because of this the hotel charged us for the "full day rate" for the room, ballooning the price of the room from $320 to almost $900. They did not inform me that they were doing this, or notify me that we needed to vacate the room. I only saw the charge on my credit card days later. In addition, while my fiance was preparing flowers in our suite, a random shirtless stranger walked into the suite AND used the bathroom. When she saw him and asked what he was doing he said "I thought this was the gym", left the room and got on the elevator. She notified security but they never followed up with us or told us anything. I get it that it's not the hotel's fault that there are weird people walking around, and we should have had the door locked; but the fact that they never followed up with us is very strange. We paid thousands of dollars to stay in this hotel and the fact that they won't budge on the extra hour for the day use room and they are seemingly unconcerned about strangers wandering the halls and going into people's rooms is extremely upsetting. There are plenty of hotels in NYC and if you're going to spend a lot of money on a hotel choose a different one. Pros - Hotel was very clean, cleaning staff was very helpful and friendly. Front desk staff were helpful and assisted us when all of our flowers for the wedding were arriving.

The good and the bad

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Rooms are nice but expensive. Pool was nice and heated to a comfortable temperature, deck chairs are all sun or all shade, but no umbrellas so hard to read and enjoy the sun. In the small lobby I didn’t care for the fragrance they add to the HVAC air. The “free”coffee doesn’t start till 8am and no decaf is provided but Starbucks is close by. Other small frustrations were related to the top floor lounge area and pool. At night a bar by day it could be a great space for reading or work but the music is very loud all the time. The building has no quiet space or business center. Be prepared to walk through this public space to get to the pool. The pool ran out of towels one day, the area weekend mgr did not allow us to bring Starbucks ice tea to the pool even though they don’t sell ice tea. Small things I normally would not take the time to complain about in a review but at 900.00 a night we felt disappointed.

Excellent service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Great location for both business and leisure. Very clean, very attentive team and a great rooftop for working and hosting guests. I would also like to extend my special thank to Jackson from the front desk,. I am a frequent business traveller, spending 40 weeks in hotels, his service is exceptionally good. He made the best recommendation to upgrade my room and find the best suitable option. Definitely will go back.

Amazing

My go to hotel any time I’m visiting the city. Love the view of the Empire State Building from the rooftop pool. In walking distance of herald square and time square. Plenty of places to eat just a few blocks away on 3rd Ave. Not to mention the staff is super friendly and always helpful. I always recommend this hotel to all of my close friends and family
