Our positive experience was tarnished by the surprise extra $51/night mandatory Urban Experience fee that we did not know was mandatory until we checked out. I would prefer to have been told when we made the on-line reservation or explicitly told at check-in....but to have the extra charge added to our invoice at check out was very disappointing. So, stay here...but beware of the extra fees that are over and above the room rate. *note for the $51/night it included a $25 dining credit...which if we had known we were going to be charged this mandatory fee we may have used. We left feeling disappointed by the veiled deception.

We had an amazing stay at Sofitel New York! The hotel is beautifully renovated, modern, elegant, and perfectly located in the heart of Manhattan, making it easy to explore the city. A special thank you to Natalie Kenya, who made our stay truly memorable. She was incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. She went above and beyond to assist us and kindly provided us with an amazing room, which made our experience even more special.

Highly disappointed. I went to the bar, to do some work and watch the Scotland-Brazil game. The staff was lovely, but I ordered French fries ($14+tax) and were oily and soggy. No cutlery or plates given. I had to ask for a small plate and mayonnaise, but not even a spoon was provided. Then, when the time of the match arrived there was no live TV sound. When I asked about the supervisor told the sound of the TV wasn’t working 🙄 He apologised but a bit late then. I also had to wait ages to pay the bill and i couldn’t even leave with a receipt with taxes and tip included. This country is hosting the greatest sporting event in the planet and they’re only focusing on ripping fans off but the service is not even near the standards of a 4 stars hotel.

We were most impressed by the dedicated staff both at the reception and restaurant. Everyone went above and beyond expectations. We especially appreciated all the assistance and care from Arian, Benny and Bikash at breakfast and Gilbert at the front desk. All superb and caring professionals. The hotel is so well located and easy to traverse the city from there. Also the breakfast was delicious with very fresh ingredients and well prepared. We will definitely be back!
