Carlton Hotel

In for one night. Just needed dinner at 8:30 pm after a very long day. No room in the restaurant for a single. Checked at the desk. I asked… Is there a bar downstairs that serves small plates? No. Not without a reservation. Huh- the two people next to me just went there with no reservations? The bar has a menu she says…awesome…bar tender says bar is closing… at 9. Recommendation… John Doe… a bar around the corner. A drinking establishment where food is an afterthought. Never coming back.

We recently stayed at Hotel Seville NoMad for six nights. Overall, the stay fell below our expectations, particularly considering the room rates and the Hyatt affiliation. Several basic amenities and details were below par. There was no coffee maker in the room -something we would expect at a hotel in this price range and which many considerably less expensive hotels provide as standard. Room lighting was very inadequate, with only two bedside reading lights and one dim hanging light over the small table. Even the toilet paper was noticeably poor quality—thin, narrow and single-ply. There is no business center—only a printer with rather complicated instructions, and little assistance available from the front desk. The air-conditioning would cool our room only to about 75°F and required attention on two separate occasions. On our first day, two of the three bathroom dispensers were not functioning. Coffee and hot water available at the bar in the mornings were lukewarm on several occasions, with no attendant present when we were there. Finally, when we added one night to our original five-night reservation about a week before arrival, the rate for that additional night was almost twice the average nightly rate of our original stay. We understand that hotel rates fluctuate, but this added to our sense of poor value. None of these issues individually would have defined our stay. Taken together, however, they were disappointing for a Hyatt property at this price point. We rated our experience 3 out of 5 and, most importantly, low on value relative to the rate charged.

I wasn’t impressed with this hotel. Service was poor as you had to keep asking the front desk to bring things even though you repeatedly asked. It look a long time to get water, sheets, towels. Coffee was cold in the morning. Worst of all the bellman criticise you for not tipping and they make it very obvious.!! Please stay at the Park South it is so much better.

Terrible staff and service. Find another hotel. Rooms are nice but staff and service make this a 2 star hotel. Bare minimum.

Rooms were nothing special, staff was dismissive at best and very rude at worst. I would not recommend staying here again. The rooms also have no hooks to hang towels or shirts to steam them.
