Nice except for dive bar next door!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

First off, it’s a very nice hotel. BUT, unless you stay on the side away from the nuisance bar next door you will be kept up all night! It’s a dive bar that has a pier so people were jumping off and swimming until 2 in the morning, a lot of yelling and noise! They also need to get new bed pillows! They were so flat I had to use three! Also, one night both their bars closed at 10 pm! Strange for summer!!

Bad experience, not worth it.

The hotel itself is in a great location. That's about one of the only things it had going for it. I travel alot so I'm not the casual traveler that is unreasonable in my expectations. I normally go for the better rooms when I stay at a hotel so when ocean front was taken I went for the Premium Water View Guestroom. When I got to the room I looked out the windows to find a tree view. There was a slider that didn't go to a deck, but also was a tree view. I was a little upset to see this tree view room was around $1,900.00 a night. I went into wash up before I was going down to talk to customer service, when I noticed that they didn't put any bathroom stuff out, no soap, shampoo, conditioner. There was actually a half used container of conditioner and lotion on the sink but that was it. When I went down to complain about the tree view, they said sorry we know that the room has trees in front of windows and we would move you but hotel is full for the duration of your stay. They actually admitted that due to the overgrown trees that it really wasn't a water view, even though I paid for a premium waterview room. They said they will let the manager know when they came in. I also let them know that the bathroom had no soap, shampoo and other stuff. They said sorry, we are really busy and they would send someone up. When I got back to my room, they sent someone to check out the bathroom. When I pointed out, there were no amenities, they looked at me and asked, would I like some. This is an $1,800.00+ room a night and they asked me if I wanted soap and shampoo in my bathroom. I obviously said yes to my dismay, the person looked put out that I wanted them . She left the room, came back knocked at my door. When I opened it, she just put a pile of stuff in my hand and said here you go. The manager never did get a hold of me. All in all, it was a very bad experience. I would highly recommend that you never go to this hotel unless you wanna spend two grand a night and get bad service. But wait the bad service didn't end there. They didn't have coffee makers in the room which a lot of places don't. They did supply coffee downstairs, but they had ran out. Took me fifteen minutes to find someone to replace the coffee. I ended up having to go into the kitchen to find someone. The front desk was literally right across from the coffee station and the whole time no one was at front desk. I think the last straw was when we were at the bar inside in the bartender saw a group of us sit down. But did not come over to ask us what we would like, but kept talking to an employee. After 10 minutes, one of us had to go to the other side of the bar and ask if he would serve us drinks. Again, like the maid upstairs, he looked put out that we asked him to do something.

Rough Around the Edges

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Great location and view. Very nice rooms and comfortable bed. But it’s a little rough around the edges such as shower water temperature wasn’t hot, no bottled water in the room, and no coffee maker. Tub drain didn’t work but didn’t matter because water was tepid. Maintenance said they weren’t allowed to turn the temp up! Fire place didn’t work. Bathroom cabinets chipped and water damaged.

Private Lunch Event

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I recently hosted a business lunch in the Gallery at Forty 1° North, and overall, it was a great experience. Riley was wonderful to work with, both leading up to the event and on-site. Our servers, Morgan and Bogdan, were absolutely fantastic! They embodied what it truly means to deliver an unmatched level of hospitality. They were professional, handled the entire lunch service with ease, and were very in tune with who our VIPs were. We had a highly successful event, and I’d definitely return.
