As a member of the prestigious Historic Hotels of America, our hotel in Newport holds a special place in history. From the Front Desk depicting ancient Nordic Runes to the original 1926 brass letter box in the Lobby, the hotel offers a wonderful combination of style, comfort and modern amenities. Brimming with stories of famous dignitaries and celebrities, the Hotel Viking has offered gracious hospitality for over 90 years. All 208 guest rooms and suites were renovated in 2018.

Wonderful Family Vacation
My family and I stayed at Hotel Viking during our vacation to Newport. The hotel is very nice and comfortable. The staff are attentive and very polite. It is located within walking distance of a lot of the tourist spots, great restaurants and beaches. We will definitely stay here again.

August week at the Viking
We stayed at the Hotel Viking for four nights. Our room was clean, nicely decorated and the beds provided a good night's sleep. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The location can't be beat as it is right in the middle of town, close to everything, yet quiet. We also very much appreciated that we could bring our canine family member along.

Perfect stay
Treated myself to an afternoon at the spa and a night away. Amazing spa services. I had a quaint room in the old section of the hotel. Delicious food. Great central location with an easy walk to lots of Newport attractions. Highly recommend.

Excellent service!
Fantastic experience at this hotel Johnson & Robin were unbelievably accommodating! The property is historic and beautiful. The rooftop is amazing with views of the sunset water and harbor! The valet service was excellent. Hotel very very clean!

We chose this hotel for its location and availability. The history and luxury was a bonus. Our family had comfort with all the amenities needed for a grand stay.

We got married at Kay Chapel and had our reception at the Hotel Viking in December. The entire event was everything that I hoped it would be! The Hotel Viking is traditional, outstanding and eloquent. Our reception was in the Bellevue Ballroom and everything was beautiful. The staff was exceptional! They were there for us throughout the evening and paid such close attention to all of the guests! The hotel service was also outstanding. I am delighted to give the Hotel Viking the highest of reviews.
