Pillar and Post

This isn’t our first time but we love it and keep coming back !! We’ll be back again in November and can’t wait already. You can use the outdoor pool all year round, the spa is amazing. The restaurants cannery was delicious and the vintage pub is a great casual spot after a long day wine tasting. The outpost is also such a wonderful beautiful garden where you can go walk through the beautiful gardens, grab a beverage, sit by the fire if it’s chilly, play some games. We love it!

First the good…The Pillar and Post is a beautiful property. The gardens are well maintained. The staff are very kind and accommodating. Particularly the staff doing food and drink service around the pool are very friendly and attentive. This was my fourth and probably last time staying at this property. The interior of the hotel is very rundown. For the cost, it is incredibly worn out. Our so-called deluxe room had a non-working fireplace, mould on the ceiling, chips everywhere in the paint, a tiny vanity, and poor lighting. This hotel is very expensive for the quality. During turn down service a rose is brought to your room, however, it would be a much nicer touch to have a complementary glass of sparkling wine upon check-in and have someone offer to bring your bags to your room. No such help was available. There is at least one large new hotel resort being built, and I think this will offer some healthy competition in the coming years.

My husband and I stayed at Pillar & Post with our dog. It’s a wonderful property and within walking distance to Old Town and Lake Ontario. The grounds are lovely, the food is delicious, and the staff is gracious. I highly recommend this property. We would come again.

This is my favourite spa hotel, the atmosphere, the food, the room everything is amazing, me and my husband spent 2 nights at this amazing place,we love it and will return again around Christmas time❤️

We have stayed at several of the Vintage hotels. Been a while since we have been to the Pillar & Post. Would say that updates have not been done to the rooms in a while. It was a short 2 night stay. Check-in was smooth and friendly. Room was fairly clean, but could have used a vacuum. The room was dated, paint was peeling and speckled in some areas. Rust was showing in the bathroom. Layout of the room was nice and the bed was comfortable. A charging station would be good too. We had dinner in the Cannery on one of the nights. Food and service was good, and they had a decent wine selection. Breakfast on the other hand was average at best. Eggs were over seasoned with salt, and some of the plates in the buffet area were not clean. The hotel overall was very nice, great character, lovely grounds. Staff were very friendly.
