Spa Day

Quaint hotel in Niagara on the Lake. The spa on site is wonderful. We enjoyed the room, facilities, and the breakfast at the Cannery. Excellent customer service.

Such a clean, relaxing hotel. The pools and hot tubs were also clean and enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it

Not what it use to be

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We have gone her regularly for 24 years. We feel the value is not there anymore. The food in the cannary was disappointing, the rib eye diner was not well cooked. We have this evertime we go, so we were dissapointed . No coffee available in the lobby as before. The dressing gown in our room was badly stained. The chairs in the bar were rickety, a few years ago they removed the al le carte breakfast, which was a let down as we dont eat enough food to pay the buffet price. So overall not impressed this time.....

Positive luxury experience

From check in to check out we had the best experience. The hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming. We were there celebrating my husband’s birthday. (thanks to our kids) Upon arrival my husband received a card and chocolates from the hotel staff. After settling in for an hour or so the hotel staff came to our room and handed us a welcomed yellow rose. Amazing! We also received a yellow rose when they came in to turn down our bed. The food and drinks were delicious. If you have time, go to the spa. It was very convenient. They encourage you to wear your robes anywhere around the hotel in or out. We will definitely be going back. Our new favorite place! 5 🌟

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I used to love this place. My family has been going here for decades to dine & celebrate various holidays. I even spent my wedding night there years and years ago (we are locals). However, my opinion is forever changed. Recently, my son picked The Pillar & Post for the night he was proposing to his girlfriend. He spoke with them well before the night, asked for the most private and intimate table they had, AND explained why… he was proposing to his girlfriend. While he did get a quieter table…I will give them that…there was ZERO acknowledgement of this momentous occasion…arguably one of the most important and memorable life events for most people . Their waiter was aware of the significance of the evening, the special occasion they were celebrating yet never acknowledged it with even a quick ‘congratulations’. There was no offer of a small glass of bubbly to toast their engagement, no offer of a dessert to share…no NOTHING. Had the food been better and the prices more reasonable, perhaps it wouldn’t seem as bad. However, the food was mediocre at best while being a more expensive restaurant as well.
