About the Hotel

For decades newlyweds and romantics have flocked to Niagara Falls for memorable getaways. These days they are sequestering themselves behind the doors of the Sterling Inn & Spa, the only boutique hotel to grace this epic region. Built in 1928 and once the home to Bordens Dairy, it was eventually converted into a nightclub and restaurant during the 1980s, and is now part of the Preferred Boutique portfolio and part of the Preferred Hotel Group. Its transition into a hotel started in 2005 with original architectural elements, such as the exposed ceiling beams and three-story milk-bottle entrance, incorporated into the new design. The result is a hybrid hotel combining the best of a luxury resort with the intimacy of a fine inn. Rooms tend to be spacious and thoughtfully appointed with oversize beds, roaring fireplaces, wet bars, and ample-size bathrooms equipped with raining shower heads and body jets. Suites offer not one, but two rooms with sitting areas and plush bedrooms.

Great stay with friends occupying 4 rooms.

Sterling Inn was a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and made us feel so very comfortable. The rooms are simply beautiful, spacious and met all of our needs and then some. The steam showers, fireplaces, furnishings and king size beds created a very niche environment. Light breakfast delivered to our room was a nice touch !

A hidden gem

This was our first time at Sterling and we were pleasantly surprised at this gem we never went to before. The room was gorgeous and so clean and the spa was amazing! Everyone was so nice and the services were outstanding. The breakfast in bed was a lovely way to end a great weekend. We will be back!

Stellar place to stay in the heart of tourist area - AG restaurant is top!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We booked the Wine and Dine winter special and come here often as a staycation and love it! The AG restaurant is always fabulous. We have been dining there for over 15 years and it's great every time. The rooms are incredibly spacious, breakfast in bed is always fun and this is a stellar place to stay in the heart of tourist area.

We are already booking our next stay!

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was so wonderful that I felt I had to share it. My husband and I stayed at the Sterling Inn & Spa from April 18–19 for a short anniversary getaway, and it was truly incredible. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We were given a spacious, spotless room with a huge soaking tub, which made the stay feel extra luxurious. Everything was incredibly clean, and it easily became one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. What really stood out was the attention to detail, they went the extra mile to make our anniversary feel special and memorable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the location couldn’t be better, just about a 10-minute walk to the falls and close to many great restaurants. The room was quiet and very relaxing, and the amenities had everything we needed, even slippers, which was a nice touch. The bed was incredibly comfortable, not too firm, but still very supportive. I had one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a while. The overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing, with soft music and a pleasant scent throughout the hotel that made everything feel even more peaceful. Overall, I highly recommend this place. If you’re reading this and considering booking, take this as your sign, you won’t regret it! (Oh! And for the price its just incredible, we are already planning our next trip staying here while typing this review!)
