About the Hotel

For decades newlyweds and romantics have flocked to Niagara Falls for memorable getaways. These days they are sequestering themselves behind the doors of the Sterling Inn & Spa, the only boutique hotel to grace this epic region. Built in 1928 and once the home to Bordens Dairy, it was eventually converted into a nightclub and restaurant during the 1980s, and is now part of the Preferred Boutique portfolio and part of the Preferred Hotel Group. Its transition into a hotel started in 2005 with original architectural elements, such as the exposed ceiling beams and three-story milk-bottle entrance, incorporated into the new design. The result is a hybrid hotel combining the best of a luxury resort with the intimacy of a fine inn. Rooms tend to be spacious and thoughtfully appointed with oversize beds, roaring fireplaces, wet bars, and ample-size bathrooms equipped with raining shower heads and body jets. Suites offer not one, but two rooms with sitting areas and plush bedrooms.

Reviews for Sterling Inn & Spa

A perfect way to visit Niagara Falls (Canada).

This was a marvellous experience. The room was wonderful—large with stylish fittings, great amenities and a great bathroom. Staff were excellent and charming without exception. It was close to the Falls, even if you had to walk down and up the amazingly garish (with its own vulgar charm) Clifton Hill. The Falls themselves are amazing. After a couple of days of touristic endeavour it was also a delight to just take the elevator down to the excellent restaurant in the hotel, AG Inspired Cuisine (accurately named). All in all a splendid stay.

Fantastic stay!

We are an older couple who just married. We chose this hotel because of the great reviews, and it didn’t disappoint. The staff is exceptional! Everyone at every level is so friendly and accommodating. Special shoutout to Deanna, who took extra time explaining everything we should know about visiting Canada from the U.S. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious and the breakfast was a great way to start the day. I can’t forget the spa. I had a fabulous massage! I’ll stop here lol but not before saying that you won’t be disappointed by staying here.

Roomy and elegant hotel in Niagara Falls

Wow, this hotel didn’t disappoint us. When we walked into the room we had wow feeling. The room is so roomy and the bathroom is huge with a large shower room with body jets. This is amazing hotel and more importantly the breakfast is brought to your room with such a quality food and service. There is also a fine dining restaurant within the hotel (see my separate review for reference). The hotel is located not far from the prime location but in a quiet area from the noise. I think u made the choice to book this hotel instead of those hotel chains.

Lovely hotel in Niagara Falls

A brilliant hotel on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, it was my partners 60th & all the staff (special thanks to Debbie & Juliet) went above & beyond. Two minutes, if that, to all the restaurants & fun of Clifton Hill. We had a meal at their on site restaurant ‘AG Inspired Cuisine’ which was fantastic, We would highly recommend staying here while in Niagara Falls.

An ideal lodging options for couples.

If you're looking for a serene atmosphere for couples with modern accommodations, this is the place for you. We came to Niagara Falls to celebrate hubby's milestone birthday. It's ideal lodging for a romantic getaway. The inn is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Clifton Hill (the leisure/entertainment strip in Niagra Falls), but still within walking distance of all the action and the falls. Breakfast in bed is included in your stay and is delivered to your room every morning at the time you prefer. Tea, coffee, and water is complimentary, but the jar of honey in the room is $14 if you use it (we actually opted to incur the expense since I like honey with my tea). The decor is modern. The steam shower hit the spot. There is also a farm-to-table fine dining restaurant and spa on site: hubby and I did both. Both were pricey, but worth it. The room/suite rates were a bit pricey as well, but again it was worth the peace and quiet we enjoyed. My only minor issue was some of the wood furniture in our room was chipped/worn and there was no microwave in our room (we had to ask the front desk staff to warm up our restaurant leftovers). Again, we paid a premium but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff also was friendly and rendered efficient service. I would recommend Sterling inn to any couple looking for lodging in a quiet, laid back setting.
