For decades newlyweds and romantics have flocked to Niagara Falls for memorable getaways. These days they are sequestering themselves behind the doors of the Sterling Inn & Spa, the only boutique hotel to grace this epic region. Built in 1928 and once the home to Bordens Dairy, it was eventually converted into a nightclub and restaurant during the 1980s, and is now part of the Preferred Boutique portfolio and part of the Preferred Hotel Group. Its transition into a hotel started in 2005 with original architectural elements, such as the exposed ceiling beams and three-story milk-bottle entrance, incorporated into the new design. The result is a hybrid hotel combining the best of a luxury resort with the intimacy of a fine inn. Rooms tend to be spacious and thoughtfully appointed with oversize beds, roaring fireplaces, wet bars, and ample-size bathrooms equipped with raining shower heads and body jets. Suites offer not one, but two rooms with sitting areas and plush bedrooms.

I booked an overnight getaway for my mom and I for a Mother’s Day gift. I have stayed at the Sterling Inn and Spa a number of times and always have a great experience. This time was no different. The check in was easy and quick, all the people at the front desk are extremely pleasant and happy to help. The room was amazing, clean with tonnes of space. All the rooms are nice and big, but this stay was definitely my favourite. Thanks to the staff for making our little getaway amazing.

My daughter arranged an overnight stay at the Stirling Inn and Spa. I have stayed once before and my daughter and her husband several times. Our room was exceptionally clean and spacious. We both appreciated the coffee and water available 24 hours. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom shower was awesome(I loved the steam). The toilet was a bit low. The front staff were very cheerful and more than happy to help when we asked for anything We were very grateful for our accommodation and will definitely be returning

First of all I want to thank Sterling Inn and Spa for upgrading our king room to a king suite. It was greatly appreciated. When we walked into our room we were pleasantly amazed. Tall ceilings , open rafters, spacious , clean and just plain sexy. The location of Sterling Inn and Spa is perfect. You can walk to Clifton Hill, the Falls, dining and entertainment. The hotel itself is beautiful and welcoming. The staff were friendly ,polite and helpful. Breakfast is brought to your room every morning. That was a big plus for me. Even though this hotel is located close to everything there wasn’t a lot of noise around it. It wasn’t overly pricey. I just can’t say enough about this hotel. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We would definitely stay here again. Don’t hesitate just book your reservation. You won’t regret it.

I have nothing but rave reviews for this hotel. I would rank this among the nicest hotels in which I've ever stayed (other than the lack of a view.) I entered my room and there was mood lighting and soft music playing, setting the tone. The room was huge, with a desk, a separate seating area in front of a fully working fireplace, a HUGE beautiful steam shower that was the highlight of my stay. as I used it every night, and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. The balcony was a nice touch, and the daily breakfast in bed (you choose the time you want it delivered to your door) was delicious. Note that it is a fixed menu, but had plenty of different foods (egg, fruit, croissant, yogurt, granola, juice.) The only minor downsides were first, the tv remote was impossible to figure out, I had to have someone come show me, which is ridiculous, and two, there were blackout curtains on the window, but only darkening curtains on the balcony door, so the sun still lightly filled the room in the morning. No, there is no view, none whatsoever, but I would choose this hotel over the falls view rooms all day long. The staff was wonderful. The location was conveniently located just slightly off from the top of Clifton Hill, but the walk to the falls wasn't difficult, and the walk to the rest was close. This was an amazing hotel, I would recommend it to primarily couples (so romantic!) and solo travellers, but families would also be comfortable here.

We stopped off in Niagara on our way from Toronto to Michigan and stayed at the Sterling Inn and Spa for one night. There was nothing not to like about the hotel. Ample parking, friendly staff and a very large bedroom. We stayed on the wine and dine package and the food and ambience was really lovely. Breakfast was delivered to our room next morning, it was both fresh and plentiful. The hotel does not overlook the falls, but is a pleasant stroll away from the attractions. It is also close to the downtown area that has amusements, eateries etc so perfectly located really. If we stayed in Niagara again then this would be our hotel of choice.
