For decades newlyweds and romantics have flocked to Niagara Falls for memorable getaways. These days they are sequestering themselves behind the doors of the Sterling Inn & Spa, the only boutique hotel to grace this epic region. Built in 1928 and once the home to Bordens Dairy, it was eventually converted into a nightclub and restaurant during the 1980s, and is now part of the Preferred Boutique portfolio and part of the Preferred Hotel Group. Its transition into a hotel started in 2005 with original architectural elements, such as the exposed ceiling beams and three-story milk-bottle entrance, incorporated into the new design. The result is a hybrid hotel combining the best of a luxury resort with the intimacy of a fine inn. Rooms tend to be spacious and thoughtfully appointed with oversize beds, roaring fireplaces, wet bars, and ample-size bathrooms equipped with raining shower heads and body jets. Suites offer not one, but two rooms with sitting areas and plush bedrooms.

Check-in pleasant and efficient. Clean and quiet, large rooms and comfortable beds. The in-room jacuzzi was wonderful. The onsite restaurant has great food with innovative dishes. The room service breakfast (included) is generous and high quality.

This was the best hotel stay I have ever had. The manager Deanna was amazing! She ensured that everything was perfect. Her professionalism and kindness was above and beyond what I have ever experienced. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!

It was a treat to stay in this lovely hotel. Everything was perfect- fantastic room size, very clean and perfect huge jacuzzi bath. We also had a nice big shower. Breakfast in bed was great- delivered at a time that we booked and nice quality items. Robes and slippers were also a nice extra in our room. Front desk staff were knowledgeable about the area and very friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

Having stayed at all the major Fallsview hotels over the years, we decided to try Sterling Inn and Spa after reading so many glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and hearing great things about their restaurant. Overall, it was a very pleasant one-night stay and a nice change of pace. The location is convenient — just a short walk to Clifton Hill and other main attractions — but it’s not the most scenic, as the hotel is surrounded by parking lots and lacks any kind of grounds or views. That said, the trade-off is worth it if you’re looking for peace and quiet. Our room was spacious and had plenty of storage, which was a nice surprise. However, it was quite dark, even with all the lights on, and the open-concept bathroom wasn’t really to our taste — very little privacy and a small vanity area. Dinner at AG Inspired Cuisine was the highlight. We booked the “Wine & Dine” package and were thoroughly impressed — delicious food, beautifully presented, and an excellent value thanks to the “Wine & Dine” package. Service throughout the hotel was warm and attentive. Breakfast, which was included, was decent but didn’t come close to the standard set by dinner. It felt more like a complimentary perk than a continuation of the culinary experience. Sterling Inn and Spa is ideal for couples looking for a romantic, quiet getaway with fine dining on site. If a view of the Falls isn’t important to you, it’s definitely worth considering.

This was our second visit to the Stirling Inn and Spa and it will definitely not be our last. The room was very clean and very well laid out. The jacuzzi tub was fantastic, perfect size and also perfect place in the room so you can relax and watch TV if you want. The bed was super comfortable, I can't remember the last time I had such a great night sleep. They also provide breakfast which they deliver to your room which I loved since I was so relaxed I didn't feel like leaving the room! Overall a wonderful getaway, I highly recommend this place.
