About the Hotel

For decades newlyweds and romantics have flocked to Niagara Falls for memorable getaways. These days they are sequestering themselves behind the doors of the Sterling Inn & Spa, the only boutique hotel to grace this epic region. Built in 1928 and once the home to Bordens Dairy, it was eventually converted into a nightclub and restaurant during the 1980s, and is now part of the Preferred Boutique portfolio and part of the Preferred Hotel Group. Its transition into a hotel started in 2005 with original architectural elements, such as the exposed ceiling beams and three-story milk-bottle entrance, incorporated into the new design. The result is a hybrid hotel combining the best of a luxury resort with the intimacy of a fine inn. Rooms tend to be spacious and thoughtfully appointed with oversize beds, roaring fireplaces, wet bars, and ample-size bathrooms equipped with raining shower heads and body jets. Suites offer not one, but two rooms with sitting areas and plush bedrooms.

Reviews for Sterling Inn & Spa

Excellent experience

After years of staying at the Sterling Inn and Spa, my husband and I decided it would be the perfect destination for our staff Christmas party. We live about an hour and a half away from Niagara Falls, so we decided to get our staff rooms for the night in addition to the dinner. We are so glad we did! I reached out to the hotel about a month before the event and had the pleasure of speaking with Deanna. She was a delight to work with and was incredibly patient and very quick to help me organize the party! After a few adjustments, we were able to finalize the details and then sit back and relax and enjoy our time away! I even messed up on the booking, and Deanna went out of her way to correct my mistake! We enjoyed the rooms, and the dinner at the AG was incredible! (As usual!) Our server was attentive and the food was on point! We enjoyed every single minute of our time there! We will be back! Thank you, Sterling Inn and Spa, and a massive thank you to Deanna!

Fantastic stay. First time there and very unexpected it to be so lively. Nicest suite I’ve ever stayed at. It will now be the place I go to in Niagara Falls.

One Night Getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My Wife and I spent one night at the Sterling Inn & Spa in Niagara Falls as a little getaway for the evening. Our entire experience was fabulous. There is no shortage of things to do in Niagara! Check in was very easy and informative. We ended up going out for dinner to the Keg. There are so many options, all with a 5 minute or less drive. Breakfast was delivered directly to our room in the morning and it was a great way to start our day! And the breakfast was outstanding! We will definately be back!

I Shouldn’t Be Telling You About This Place…

The Sterling Inn is almost too good to share. Perfect location, minutes from the falls (if you dare leave your hotel room). Such an incredible value: a room way bigger than expected, with steam shower, jacuzzi and a fireplace that provides a cozy, romantic and intimate atmosphere. Dinner was outstanding, too. Honestly, I’d keep this place a secret if I could-just pretend you didn’t hear it from me.

This place is HOT, but not in a good way.

Regarding our stay at Sterling Inn and Spa in November 2025: We have, over the years, stayed here several times. Each visit has, for the most part, been quite satisfactory. Until this time. The room was fine-starting to have a faded glory look to it though. It was large. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, the location is great. Our party had two rooms. My daughter's room was kept at 65 degrees F. Nice and cold just the way she and her husband like it. Unfortunately, I like it that way too and my room-no matter what I did never budged from 74 F. I tried Fan Auto, Fan On, Heat 65 degrees, Cold 65 degrees. It was an awful first night and i did not crack the small window open as I thought it might trigger the Heating/Cooling system to turn off. I hardly slept. Miserable. The second day we were gone all day and oh how I hoped when we got back the actual room temperature would match what the set temperature was. It had not budged from 74 degrees. My daughter's room was set at 65 and held at 65. I called the desk. They sent up someone. He explained that they facility had just switched from Cold to Heat and there was nothing he could do. My daughter sat staring agape at him. She explained that their room was 65 degrees. In essence the man just shrugged and offered to bring us a fan. That night I cracked the small window open to no avail and spent the night tossing, turning and kicking the sheet off me. Two uncomfortable, mostly sleepless nights. I paid you the price you charged for the room. I kept my end of the deal. You gave me a room that had a
