From the minute we had entered the Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel we were met by the lovely team at the front desk and the nice men at the front, Mathilde and Isabelle helped us find our way to the Gorgeous SEEN by Olivier Rooftop 360° view of nice restaurant, we had come for a special occasion and a close friend had bought us a bottle of wine, Mathilde had come from the reception desk all the way up to us to ensure we had received the bottle of wine which we really appreciated, when we finished at the Seen restaurant we payed the bill and the team were amazing very 5 star standard that we were hoping for, We came down and Mathilde had given us a wonderful tour of the hotel she was a star 🌟 I would only be delighted to recommend this hotel for the experience and Quality!

Meh — not great

The location is great, but my husband and I were underwhelmed by the quality of the room and especially the service. Not necessarily rude, but not helpful and a little curt and annoyed by questions … even the Concierge desk (whose job IS to be helpful and answer questions). We paid $800+ per night for a room that sort of seemed nice but really wasn’t comfortable. The sink had no room to put toiletries / cosmetics, and it just felt like an overpriced room. We’ve stayed at their property in the Seychelles which is completely amazing, but this was a dud. I wouldn’t go back and don’t recommend.

Our stay was absolutely phenomenal as expected from such a nice property! The service and ambiance was top tier. We also had the best couples massage and facial from David and Justine! Highly recommend those two for the massage of your lives!

Mike from the hotel concierge went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect. We lost our phone and he went out of his way to help us retrieve it. He also gave us the most wonderful recommendations for dining and things to do in and around Nice and Cannes. He’s extremely helpful and friendly

Terrifying Experience

Terrifying end to an already disappointing stay. First impressions were great as we were greeted by a lovely lady called Emily who gave a very comprehensive check in and personally showed us to our room. After that, everything went downhill. Housekeeping serviced the room daily, removed used towels, our room key, cups and glasses but failed to replace them!! Each day we had to call housekeeping to ask for replacements which never materialised so we had to locate the housekeeping trollers which were parked along the corridor and help ourselves. On one occasion we called reception 4 times asking for fresh towels and crockery only to receive an empty ice bucket, not what we requested. Service at the rooftop restaurant/bar was no better. We went to the bar for a coffee, were shown our seats. After 15 mins we caught someone’s attention and ordered two coffees, we waited, and waited, asked again, waited, asked again and then left without receiving our coffees. At 25 Euros you would expect slightly better service!!! I mentioned this to Rowan when we were checking out and he told me that it was a problem that they had been asking management to address. The final horror came when we needed to leave for the airport. We spoke to the staff at the front door and explained that we had a pre-booked car for the airport and would be waiting in the reception as instructed. We checked a couple of times but were told that the car had not arrived even though it was considerably later than the time booked. Eventually one of the doormen came and got us, we confirmed our name, destination and the company that the car had been booked through. Our luggage was loaded in to the car, we got in and left. Halfway to the airport, the driver stopped and asked us for money. We explained that the car had been pre-booked and paid for and showed him the voucher. He claimed it was nothing to do with him and he pulled over and demanded money from us. He kept trying to take my phone out of my hand claiming that he needed to use it for wi-fi. We were terrified, he did not speak English and we did not speak French. My daughter phoned the hotel and asked them to help us as they had obviously made a dreadful mistake, they refused and told us to pay him. After we had been in the phone for about 20 minutes, they told us that the correct driver had turned up but refused to send him to collect us and insisted that we paid the driver. I have never been so scared in my life and wonder how many other innocent guests have been caught like this. A truly terrifying ordeal that I would not wish on anyone.
