Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel

Thought we would try this relatively new hotel and a member of the Discovery Loyalty program. As a discovery Titanium member I was expecting a warm welcome - unfortunately I was disappointed. I notified them that we would arrive around 1pm. As part of the Discovery program benefits you should receive 11am check in and two level upgrade (subject to availability). When we arrived they said room was not ready but was empty and being cleaned. She said she would expedite room cleaning and text me shortly when room was ready. Didn't aknowledge my Titanium status or mention any of the Discovery benefits. By 3.15pm, past regular check in time we had received no text. We went to reception and was told the room was ready. Nobody offered to show us the room or explain any of the hotel services - very odd for a 5 star hotel. Went to the room which was very pleasant and clean and was the room category we had booked. No upgrade. That night went to the rooftop bar around 5pm for a cocktail, i had gone up earlier to ask if we needed to make a booking for drinks and was told no. When we got there it was virtually empty except for 3 tables on the terrace. Was told it was fully booked - we said we were just here for a drink for an hour and they then begrudgingly sat us outside on the terrace with a drinks menu. After 20 minutes of waiting with no service we went to order at the bar. After another 20 minutes and no delivery of our drinks I went to the bar, where our drinks were sat on the bar - I helped myself to them and took them to the table. Considering how empty the place was this place had terrible service. The contrast with breakfast the next morning was extraordinary. In the same space with very attentive staff and a very good breakfast. Location is good and the rooms are nice. We normally stay at Four Seasons hotels but thought we would try this for a change. It was our 3rd Anantara hotel stay and none of them have been without their flaws. This could be a great hotel but needs better management and staff training.

This hotel was 5-star, location was perfect, walking distanced too everywhere, rooms were gorgeous with all amenities needed. the service was great, the bar/ restaurant was lovely, breakfast was wonderful with a great variety, coffee service a bit slow but that is the only thing a could complain about. the staff is so helpful and professional. our room was beautiful on a corner with a lot of windows and balconies. nice and dark for sleeping, the bed was so so comfy, the sheets and pillows were amazing. we will be back and we will tell our friends and family about them. it was our anniversary and there was a beautiful cake waiting on the table for us, thanks you Anantara for making our stay so perfect.

Amazing hotel, location and staff. walking distance to the old town and the water. 20 min walk to train station in Nice-Ville. the rooftop was amazing for breakfast and dinner. truly 5 star luxury

Go see Wanatsuda at the Spa! It's been days and I still feel amazing.

I had the pleasure of experiencing the Anantara Plaza Nice Spa. When I first arrived I was greeted by Christelle the spa manager, which was lovely. Her warm welcome set the tone for my spa experience. I’m happy I arrived early in order to enjoy the hamman, the sauna and the relaxation room before my massage. Then I had the most relaxing 90 minutes massage that was done by David. He is truly exceptional and I swear he like a magician. I left feeling relaxed and renewed. If you live in Nice or if you are just visiting, I highly recommend this Spa.
